Day 112: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday-Prompt
Slim had a ritual which he carried out every Wednesday night at 7:30 PM, in his basement. It was hump-day-night and he was always in a good mood because there were only 2 days left until Friday, where he would spend the entire weekend in his man cave. The time had come. Slim walked down to the basement and into his comfortable man cave, grabbed the flashlight and proceeded to the door across the room. He opened the door, entered the unfinished section of the basement, and quickly slammed the door shut. He had unwanted visitors that would never be allowed in his man cave ever again; once was enough. With flashlight in hand, his ceremonial dance began; it was similar to a tap dance. With every stomp of his feet on the cement floor, camel crickets jumped waist high. His wristband contained a dozen miniature nets and with the press of a button, the nets were released, one by one, until all were captured. Slim drove to the end of his long driveway and released the crickets at the entrance to their cricket cave. He gave them a scolding. "You have already done enough damage when you scared my buddies away during opening night of my man cave. How many times do we have to do this until you learn? I get it! You like to celebrate hump day. Do it in your own cave and stop trying to get into my man cave 'cause it just ain't goin' to happen. My patience is wearing thin and you might end up not seeing the light of day."
This is a Camel Cricket. It got its name because of the big hump on its back. They live in dark basements and caves and they only come out at night. They can't see well, but they do have excellent hearing. When you stomp your feet on the ground it scares them and they jump real high as a defense against any predators.

lol. i couldn't imagine myself seeing the cricket jumping towards me. For sure my flashlight will be thrown away.
HaHa! LOL! You should have seen me the first time I saw it jump in front of me! I jumped and screamed. They are outside on my porch during a humid summer night and I all I do is stomp my feet to chase them away. They are so big and so gross!

Great idea for "the deliverers." Tuesday to be a deliverer? Sure, I can deliver on Tuesday. I just signed up to be a deliverer on Wednesday; sorry but I can't do Thursday or Friday.

When you get there, the setting is going to be on dark background. Go to settings and change it to white.... Hopefully, that works for you.
