School bully prevention
My last article was about school bullying, this one is about prevention.
Finland has a very successful program called KiVa™
Bullying victims in schools involved in the program have felt that their situation improved by 98%. Finnish data from more than 1000 schools state that after the first year of implementation, bullying had reduced significantly.
In Sweden, 17 schools tried the KiVa™ program. During the first school year, bullying decreased by 40% and the number of bully's decreased by 30%.
The program puts a lot of focus on the bystander, by teaching them to defend the victim. The program also uses fun antibullying computer games, and involves teachers, students and parents.
For anyone interested in the KiVa™ program, here's a couple of links with more information:

good program..
Definitely sounds like a good program. Wish they would try it at my children's school. Certainly going to chat about it to the principle.
