Mother's Day Memories
Happy Mother's Day!!
This being May 12, 2019... it's Mother's Day, and I would like to share a memory with you...
Memories
My mother shared this with me today; this poem was taught to her by her great, great, grandmother. My mother was eight years old when she learned this poem... it left such a lasting impression on her, that I wanted to share it with all of you.
and Man made money.
God made bees,
and bees made honey.
God made Satan,
and Satan made Sin.
God dug a hole,
and threw Satan in.
Satan got made,
swore he wouldn't stay.
God said He would,
'cause He couldn't get away.
You must understand... my family was Southern Baptist. Therefore, I was raised Southern Baptist. And to state, this is a special moment goes without saying. But to add to the story, even more, is something I learned "after" speaking with my Mom today and learning about this special Mother's Day memory. My Mom is currently 76... and as I mentioned, she was told this poem at the age of eight. Furthermore... I was raised in a small town just outside of Buckner, Missouri. Not wanting to be flagged for plagiaristic information (this poem) I found the following information on Google:
God made bees, and bees made honey, God made man, and man made money, Pride made the devil, and the devil made sin; So God made a cole-pit to put the devil in
Source
What are the odds that my Mother's great, great, grandmother heard this quote, that according to the above-cited information states... "Transcribed by James Henry Dixon, from the fly-sheet of a Bible, belonging to a pit-man who resided near Hutton-Henry, in County of Denham."Source
Hutton-Henry, in the County of Denham, is in the United Kingdom... and from this source, "James Henry Dixon
(Dixon, James Henry, 1803-1876)"Source... if this doesn't constitute as something REALLY cool, I don't know what will!
So... I hope you found this as fascinating as I have...
Thank you as always, for stopping by and reading my post. Wishing all those Mother's out there, a VERY wonderful Mother's Day today!!

Even way back then people were better connected than we might realize! That would be a memorable poem. I'm glad your mom is still reciting it!
You are correct my friend! Let alone, the majority of people here in the States now, from what I have learned, are from the Europian area... so who knows right? Thank you for the kind words... and for stopping by!
Thank you very much it is much appreciated 😊

My "flavor of the day" ranges from turmeric, for it's anti-inflammatory properties, to Hyrdocodone (which I hate). I also use peppermint essential oils, and epsom salt baths, we do what we have to :)
We do and we do it well
