The SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE is a weekly competition, run by the great curation team, over at @splinterlands. Every week, just by following a few simple rules, you too can win yourself a juicy upvote from the team.

So every week, the cool and creative @carrieallen tells us which specific monster, set of battle rules or ability she wants us to show off. This week, she wants to see a battle we've been involved in where BLAST has been used:

For me, blast is by far one of the most deadly buffs a monster can have. It can take out several enemy monsters in one go, or at least soften up the monsters around it for your other guys to take down.

With a relatively high mana available, it gave me free reign to pick some "big hitters" for this battle. With "heal" ability not available for this battle, I wouldn't use EARTH or DEATH splinters where my go-to tanks would have been flesh golem and haunted spirit, who both have the heal ability.

That left the WATER splinter or DRAGON..... I'm glad I ended up choosing the WATER splinter, because it ended up being very effective.

First off, the Water splinter is deadly when the right opportunity arises. The +1 magic buff by the summoner, makes most of the water splinter an effective offensive weapon. Throw in a few neutral monsters and you've got a fighting deck, very few can match.

Although @siong had the impressive CHAIN GOLEM(lvl 2) as his tank, which offers some defence against magic, with many of its buffs - void, the constant bombardment soon took its toll.

I think what won me this battle far faster than I expected, was the speed buffs brought to the table by my RotS and Spirit Miner. This meant that my magic attack could remove his CG in round one, before his other monster even got a look in.

The battle ended up being rather one sided, which surprised even me. The blast buff my Ruler of the Seas had, definitely helped, it effectively makes his attack +6 ( +4 initially and +2 for blast). When you think of it like that, you start to appreciate the effectiveness of blast.
