Erfolgsmeldung ;-)) / Success story ;-))

Wieder einmal konnte ich ein paar Tage nichts von mir hören lassen - manchmal ist Alltag ganz schön anstrengend und zeitraubend ;-)) Aber: in der Zeit sind Dinge passiert!

Daß mein altes Subarulein nach einem Auffahrunfall im Februar leider nicht mehr ganz der Alte geworden war - im Gegenteil, er fing mehr und mehr deutlich an zu schwächeln ;-(( - hatte ich Euch berichtet. Nun war da auf der einen Seite doch eine starke Anhänglichkeit, die mich eigentlich an ihm festhalten ließ. Außerdem gibt es da ein paar Parameter bei meiner Suche nach einem würdigen Ersatz, die alles andere als erleichternd wirkten... In der Tat mußte ich letzten Endes auch Zugeständnisse machen, aber es ist nun vollbracht. Bis jetzt fühlt es sich gut an ;-)) "Der Neue" ist natürlich wieder eher ein Alter und seines Zeichens ein Opel Zafira. Ich wünsche uns allzeit gute Fahrt!

Ihr kennt auch bereits unser Pilzzucht-Experiment. Und wie @koppe seinerzeit kommentierte, ist das alles wirklich so einfach und zufriedenstellend, wie der Anbieter versprach.

Nach knapp drei Wochen im Freien unter einer Kunststoffhaube bei eher ungemütlichen Temperaturen tauchten sie auf, die stecknadelkopfgroßen Vorboten künftiger Ernten! Ab da ging dann alles ganz schnell - beim Lüften alle zwei Tage konnte ich rasante Fortschritte vermerken und am Samstag gab es Nudeln mit Steinchampignonsauce ;-))

Ja, in der ersten Kiste wachsen Steinchampignons. Die sind beige-braun mit einer Art Schuppenmuster, sehr fest und rundlich und haben rosige Lamellen. Roh habe ich neben dem klassischen Aroma einen Hauch von Meerettich geschmeckt. Geschmort kommen sie mild und nussig daher, lassen sich in einer Sahnesauce wirklich gut mit Nudeln kombinieren. Es gab kaum Flüssigkeitsverlust beim Schmoren, das Volumen blieb also nahezu erhalten. Bis jetzt kann ich eine eindeutige Empfehlung aussprechen. Natürlich ist der kleine Krämer in mir am notieren, wieviel Erträge sich nun tatsächlich aus einer Box herausholen lassen. Auch das werde ich berichten, wenn das Myzel ausgelaugt ist und keine Pilzköpfe mehr nachwachsen wollen...

Die zweite Kiste, die auch mit drei Wochen Verzögerung nach draußen umzog, läßt weiter etwas auf sich warten - hier sehe ich vereinzelte Punkte im Myzel, die sich aber noch nicht entschieden haben, auf Pilzgröße zu wachsen. Abwarten und Rotwein trinken ;-))

Daneben gab es noch die Idee, demnächst einem wolfsversessenen Kind zum Geburtstag ein großes Puzzle zu schenken. Natürlich mit einem mystisch-kitschigen, nach Möglichkeit noch glitzernden Wolfsmotiv. Bei "Greencircle", der Firma, die ich Euch ebenfalls an anderer Stelle vorstellte (Sharing Economy und Kreislaufwirtschaft sollen als Stichpunkte hier genügen), fand ich ein solches und erwarb es prompt. Bei der Lieferung fragte ich im Scherz, ob sie denn die Teile überhaupt gezählt hätten, war ja nicht mehr versiegelt... Das verschämte Grinsen ging mir dann nicht mehr aus dem Kopf und wir sahen uns gezwungen, es zu prüfen. Wir zählten unabhängig voneinander und kamen auf 983 bzw. 986 Teile ;-)) Ich hatte die Beschwerdemail schon geschrieben und war bereit, sie abzuschicken, als ich noch eine Internetrecherche einschob: Haben 1000-Teile-Puzzles eigentlich wirklich genau 1000 Teile?? Klare Antwort: nein. Mal mehr und mal weniger. Alles klar. Mein Ansatz war also folgerichtig: wir müssen den Rand fertigstellen und können dann durch Multiplikation die zutreffende Gesamtzahl der Teile ermitteln.

Tja...

Wir konnten immerhin die exakte Größe rekonstruieren und die rechnerisch nötigen Teile ermitteln - 999 wären es in diesem Fall. Jetzt warten wir - natürlich bei Rotwein ;-)) - auf die Rückabwicklung... Auch hierfür wurde Ersatz bestellt und ist auf dem Weg - hoffentlich rechtzeitig zum anstehenden Geburtstag.

In diesem Sinne: ich setze morgen mit dem Wettbewerb fort. Nicht ungeduldig werden, bitte... ;-))

Once again I didn't hear anything from me for a few days - sometimes everyday life is quite exhausting and time-consuming ;-)) But: things happened during that time!

I had told you that my old Subaru was not quite his old self after a rear-end collision in February - on the contrary, he started to weaken more and more ;-((. Now, on the one hand, there was a strong attachment that actually made me hold on to him. On the other hand, there were a few parameters in my search for a worthy replacement that were anything but relieving... In fact, I had to make concessions in the end, but it's done now. So far it feels good ;-)) The "new one" is of course an old one and an Opel Zafira. I wish us all a good trip!

You already know our mushroom growing experiment. And as @koppe commented at the time, it really is as simple and satisfying as the supplier promised.

After almost three weeks outdoors under a plastic cover in rather uncomfortable temperatures, they appeared, the pinhead-sized harbingers of future harvests! From then on, everything went very quickly - when I aired them every two days, I noticed rapid progress and on Saturday we had pasta with mushroom sauce ;-))

Yes, stone mushrooms are growing in the first box. They are beige-brown with a kind of scale pattern, very firm and roundish and have rosy lamellae. Raw, I tasted a hint of horseradish in addition to the classic aroma. When braised, they come across as mild and nutty, and combine really well with pasta in a cream sauce. There was hardly any loss of liquid during braising, so the volume was almost maintained. So far, I can give them a definite recommendation. Of course, the little huckster in me is taking note of how much yield can actually be extracted from a box now. I will also report on this when the mycelium is exhausted and no more mushroom heads want to grow...

The second box, which also moved outside after a delay of three weeks, is still waiting a bit - here I see isolated dots in the mycelium, but they have not yet decided to grow to mushroom size. Wait and see and drink red wine ;-))

Then there was the idea to give a wolf-obsessed child a big puzzle for her birthday soon. Of course with a mystically kitschy, if possible still glittering wolf motif. I found one at "Greencircle", the company I also introduced to you elsewhere (sharing economy and circular economy should suffice as key points here), and promptly purchased it. Upon delivery, I jokingly asked if they had even counted the parts, as they were no longer sealed... I couldn't get the bashful grin out of my head and we were forced to check. We counted independently and came up with 983 and 986 parts respectively ;-)) I had already written the complaint email and was ready to send it when I did some internet research: Do 1000-piece puzzles really have exactly 1000 pieces? Clear answer: no. Sometimes more and sometimes less. All right. So my approach was logical: we have to finish the edge and then we can find the correct total number of pieces by multiplication.

Well...

At least we were able to reconstruct the exact size and determine the mathematically necessary parts - 999 would be it in this case. Now we are waiting - of course with red wine ;-)) - for the reversal... A replacement has also been ordered and is on its way - hopefully in time for the upcoming birthday.

In this sense: I will continue with the competition tomorrow. Don't get impatient, please... ;-))
