Berlin ist keine saubere Stadt. Gibt es überhaupt so etwas? Dieses klischeehafte Bilderbuch-Idyll, mit pittoresken Altbauten, malerischen Grünanlagen und super sauberer Luft? Wo unglaublich achtsame Menschen leben...?

Also ich glaube schon. Ich habe ja immer 'mal in Regionen zu tun, wo ich es genau so empfinde. Sauber, aufgeräumt, ordentlich. Die sind nun, zugegeben, eher ländlich geprägt und damit von Hause aus vielleicht nicht so anfällig für Wohlstandsmüll...? Das wäre zu einfach, denke ich...

Der neue Stall vom Pferdi, südlich von Berlin, in unmittelbarer Nähe des wunderbarsten Berliner Flughafens aller Zeiten und eines großen Einkaufszentrums, aber dennoch im Grünen und "weitab vom Schuß", wie man so schön sagt. Die Gegend ist nicht spektakulär, aber ziemlich naturbelassen, nicht überlaufen und für mich durchaus erholsam (wenn die große Stadt wieder einmal plagt).

Heute komme ich nichts ahnend zum Bewegen und Füttern - und traue meinen Augen nicht. Müllsäcke. Auf dem Waldweg. Und abseits des Wegs, im ganzen Wald verteilt.

Ich habe früher schon auf Wanderungen Küchengeräte und Altreifen gefunden, Möbel und Baumaterial. Es handelt sich um illegale Entsorgung und ist eine Riesensauerei! Abgesehen davon, daß die Umgebung verschandelt und zugemüllt wird, hat jemand einen Entsorgungsnachweis für diese Dinge ausgestellt - und dann eben nicht regelgerecht entsorgt. Je nach Art der weggeworfenen Güter kann es da um richtig viel Geld gehen... Außerdem stellt der Abfall natürlich eine Verletzungsgefahr für Mensch und Tier dar, eine Kontamination des Bodens ist nicht ausgeschlossen und überhaupt: was soll das? Wie kann man nur?

Was ich heute fand, war noch drei Mal idiotischer: Stroh und Sägespäne. In Größenordnungen. Säuberlich abgepackt in PLASTIKTÜTEN. Das Zeug selber würde innerhalb kürzester Zeit verrotten, ohne Schaden anzurichten. Aber was sollen diese gelben Säcke???

Jetzt 'mal ehrlich: wenn ich mir vorstelle, wie viel Mühe es bereitet, den ganzen Kram einzutüten, in ein Fahrzeug zu laden, in den Wald zu fahren, es dort großflächig zu verteilen (man kommt dort teilweise tatsächlich nur zu Fuß, Rad oder Pferd hin)... Dabei immer das Risiko, beobachtet zu werden. Ich. Verstehe. Es. Nicht. Ich will das nicht verstehen.

Es gibt Länder, die haben kein Abfallmanagement. Die werden regelrecht überflutet von Müll. Das kann man abstellen, wenn man eine entsprechende Struktur schafft. Bei uns gibt es diese Struktur. Sie ist partiell teuer, aber Müllgebühren zahlt jeder Haushalt obligatorisch. Da sind viele Entsorgungsleistungen inkludiert. Was darüber hinaus geht, gewerblicher Abfall, ist natürlich kostenpflichtig. Im Rahmen der Gewerbeausübung aber sicher nicht der entscheidende Faktor und außerdem als Ausgabe steuerlich geltend zu machen, nachdem die Leistung in die eigenen Kalkulationen eingepreist wurde.

Wie sind so Menschen gestrickt? Denken die nicht von 12 bis Mittag oder was ist da los im Oberstübchen? Gibt es jemanden, der einen schönen, natürlichen Wald als solches nicht zu schätzen weiß? Ich sagte schon: ich verstehe es nicht.

Und ich überlege, ob ich nächste Woche, wenn ich wieder draußen bin, wenigstens die Müllsäcke einsammeln gehe. Nach vorheriger Mitteilung beim zuständigen Forstamt - ansonsten hält man mich am Ende noch für den Umweltsünder!

I think so. I'm often in regions where that's exactly how I feel. Clean, tidy, orderly. Admittedly, they are more rural and therefore perhaps not so prone to affluent rubbish...? That would be too easy, I think...

The horse's new stable, south of Berlin, in the immediate vicinity of the most wonderful Berlin airport ever and a large shopping centre, but still in the countryside and "far from the shot", as one says. The area is not spectacular, but quite natural, not overcrowded and quite relaxing for me (when the big city plagues me again).

Today, unsuspectingly, I come to move and feed - and can't believe my eyes. Rubbish bags. On the forest path. And off the path, scattered throughout the forest.

I've found kitchen utensils and old tyres on walks before, furniture and building materials. It is illegal dumping and a huge mess! Apart from the fact that the environment is disfigured and littered, someone has issued a disposal certificate for these things - and then just not disposed of properly. Depending on the type of goods thrown away, a lot of money can be involved... In addition, the waste naturally poses a risk of injury to humans and animals, contamination of the soil cannot be ruled out, and anyway: what's the point? How can anyone do that?

What I found today was three times more idiotic: straw and sawdust. In orders of magnitude. Neatly packed in PLASTIC BAGS. The stuff itself would rot within a very short time without causing any damage. But what are these yellow bags for?

Let's be honest: when I imagine how much effort it takes to bag up all the stuff, load it into a vehicle, drive it into the forest and distribute it over a large area (in some cases you can only get there on foot, by bike or on horseback)... Always the risk of being observed. I. Don't. Understand. It. I don't want to understand it.

There are countries that have no waste management. They are literally flooded with waste. You can stop that if you create an appropriate structure. We have this structure. It is partially expensive, but waste fees are compulsory for every household. Many disposal services are included. What goes beyond that, commercial waste, is of course subject to charges. But it is certainly not the decisive factor in the context of practising a business and can also be claimed as an expense for tax purposes after the service has been priced into one's own calculations.

How are people like that wired? Don't they think from 12 to noon, or what's going on in their heads? Is there anyone who doesn't appreciate a beautiful, natural forest as such? I already said: I don't understand it.

And I'm thinking of at least going to collect the rubbish bags next week when I'm out again. After prior notification to the responsible forestry office - otherwise they'll think I'm the environmental offender in the end!
