City Museum, Saint Louis Missouri

Aside from the whole museum being a giant interactive work of art, there was a room with a vast collection of bugs. I decided to photograph them and share them here.
I was most hyped on the moths because of the Chicago Mothman. Pretty crazy that he evolved from one of these specimens.

They had all kinds of bugs, even gnats, which were smaller then the pin used to stab through them into the styrofoam.

Great photography, the Luna moth is impressive. Have you ever seen a Live one? They're georgous

Yeah! Ive had a big light green one fly on me once or twice. Thier antennas are really cool

did they have a Hummingbird Moth in their collection?

I had a couple of encounters here in my new domicile in Vienna.

you mentioned the Mothman - made me search:
Mothman_statue.jpg

i absolutely love that. I'm editing my MOTHMAN IN CHICAGO music video that im making. that statue is so COOL. the last sighting in chicago was oct 16. I wonder how these people see the being.... does it have to do with how spiritual the person is who sees it? god, that statue is so badass, i would love that in my backyard. it flies without flapping its wings. im not sure if its an interdimentional being like a spirit in the flesh, or just a being that has anti gravity abilities from innner earth.

long time ago I seen a movie of giant alien insects that were shape-shifter - like, they could mimic a human, and they were hunting humans ... I have no idea about the title, or remember much of the scenes, except one in a deserted subway station ......
Good luck with your project - in the seventies I produced a lot of horror pictures, calling it my "scare the neighbors period".

wow, what a trip - if you ever happen to go to Canada, visit the Montreal Botanical Garden. Your photos of butterflies made me think of it. I was there ages ago.

yeah ive never been to canada. half my ancestors are from there though, as well as my last name, goulet

then you should feel right at home in Quebec - Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Michel Goulet wouldn't by any chance be related to you? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Goulet
Montreal is largely bilingual, but the countryside of Quebec, you would be better off even just trying to speak French. There, the don't like the English, and they can be quite ignorant, even if they understand you. Living in Western Canada, there is not much French, but I learned enough of it by reading bilingual cereal boxes at breakfast and listening to original Hockey broadcast by the "Habs" (Montreal Canadians).

I would have to do some research to see if i am related to Michel Goulet. I know i am related to robert goulet lol. my grandma did the research and found out that my grandpa goulet's great great great great grandfather and robert goulet's great great great great grandfather were brothers

wow, I have not thought of him - I seen him quite a few times. It is a common name in Quebec, I think, one would have to check the phone directory how many in Montreal alone. ... yes, just looked, there are: 208 results for Goulet in Montreal QC
