I am sorry
Sorry, I said
Before I tore words from your lips
And ground your bones to dust.
I listened for your tears
And brought a cup to gather
Offerings for my broken god
Dying on his altar.
Sorry, I said
After you body became a city
On the precipice of a tree;
Pendulum swinging at the village square
And people whispered pleasant things
Of all that I had stolen from you
So that I could feed and forget.
Sorry, I said
When your eyes grew weak,
Your feet pattered off the earth
And words ceased to form
On your tongue as you ended
Like a slow song just here, right here
Before the mirror that used to smile at you.
Sorry, I said
When your body rejected babies
And my weight became your cross
Beneath which you called to father,
To mother and finally looked me in the eye
And found that love was a knife gripped
In knobbly knuckled fingers bleeding.
Sorry, I said
Just before it rained on the stone,
The mourners gone to feed their pain,
Just before the soggy earth that ate you
Belched and roots rose five bony fingers
From your womb, laid your final curse
And I stumbled away muttering to the night.

I have been having some interesting conversations and last night was another interesting one. We talked about feminism and patriarchy and the rabbit hole simply went deeper. Meanwhile I have been listening to Lana Del Rey's This is how to Disappear and I can tell you that I will be playing it for a long time. It is poetry, I swear. Good morning.

Thanks sir. I appreciate your visit to my space.
That was a nice poem, and to top it off ending with Lana Del Ray, I had to go listen, and I have to say I think I like her, at least that song. I will need to listen to a few more of her songs. An unbelievable mix of styles in just that one song, I could see it being sang in enjoyed in 1930's in lounges or blues bars. Also I could hear a little bit of Mazzy Star music style in the sound of the instruments in parts. If you have never heard Mazzy this is one of hers that I really like.
I am glad you seem to be having a bit more fun, good conversations, good music, and good words, what more does one need in life on a good day. I know what one needs, a nice chicken dinner ;-} I had to get that in there, I had a very nice maybe the best chicken dinner in a very long time.
Enjoy the week.
Oh someone is making turkey, rice and beans later. That would be lunch. I am scrambling on coffee right now, trying to get a review together. My day is just full with things I have wished for . I will check her out, Mazzy Star, later on. After I am done writing. Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a lovely week ahead too.
