How many of you have wondered to yourself "what is the way to build my self-esteem and self-respect?" Well, there are many ways to gain confidence, but the most important thing is to surround yourself with positive people who believe in themselves. You must be a part of a "positive group" if you want to be successful at anything worthwhile in life. If you try to go it alone most times you will fail.


There are many books that teach you how to achieve this, including "The Secret". One of the best ways to gain self-esteem is to learn how to use "self-affirmations" and "confidence enhancing thoughts". These are statements that make you feel good about yourself. It is as simple as that.

The next step is to read something that makes you laugh and let it make you feel good. This can be an article you read that is funny or a book you read that is full of humor. A great way to work on your self-esteem is to read something that is depressing and have fun at the same time. Do not let negative thoughts take control of your mind when reading something that makes you laugh. Reading something that makes you laugh and feel good is a great way to build your self-esteem and self-respect.

Another step is to set personal boundaries. You do not have to set absolute personal boundaries; however, sometimes it helps to do so. Setting your own personal boundaries will keep you focused on your goals. By setting boundaries you will allow yourself to move forward rather than feeling like you are losing control. A personal boundary also allows you to be confident that you are in charge of your situation.

Finally, the last piece of advice is to read something that makes you feel good. Reading something that makes you smile, laugh, and feel good about yourself is a great way to build your self-esteem and self-respect. You do not have to read something about conquering fear, overcoming insecurity, or any other topic that may make you feel bad. Simply do something that makes you happy. Whether it is about a funny story or a sad story, or even a love story, reading something that makes you smile and feel good about yourself is a great way to build your self-esteem and self-respect.

To set healthy boundaries, you first need to decide what your boundaries are. Will you allow yourself inside or outside contact with certain people? Will you allow yourself to socialize with certain things and not others? These are all questions you need to answer before you set your own boundaries. Setting healthy boundaries allows you to get in touch with who you are and allows others to get in touch with you as well. If you do not know where you started with your boundaries, you can always ask friends for their input or take a course on how to develop healthy boundaries.

When you learn how to deal with the issues of low self-esteem and develop your own set of beliefs, you will notice that the process does not happen overnight. No one wakes up one day and says "I am going to be a better person." However, through a series of small steps, you can work on your change over time and learn how to welcome the changes that happen everyday.

In conclusion, you can have success if you learn how to build your self-esteem and self-respect. Low self-esteem and low self-respect do not have to mean that you will be unable to accomplish your goals. Positive affirmations and having healthy boundaries do not happen overnight, they take time. With consistent effort, time and patience you can overcome low self-esteem and develop confidence so that you can tackle all of your life's challenges with a smile.
