Changing Our Attitude About Ourself

Your Attitude is a very real part of your character. So how do you keep our Attitude? What if there were no such thing as Our Attitude, then how could we ever get our Ex Back? What if we never had an opportunity to test our New Attitude - would we really know what to do? If we knew that every problem was only an obstacle on the path of our Success, would that make us feel better about any problem? Would that make us more willing to try new things - or at least leave the hard work to someone else?


It all comes down to attitude. Can you keep an open and positive attitude, even in the worst situations? Can you be a true friend to those around you, even when you don't agree with their way of life? Can you be an honest and ethical citizen even when it doesn't always seem like your best interests are in mind? Can you have both a positive and realistic outlook on life?

Most people have a negative attitude, some more than others. When we have a negative attitude, we tend to put ourselves down and refuse to take responsibility for our actions. When we have a positive attitude however, we can see the glass half full. We would much rather accept responsibility for our actions and take a positive view of life than do nothing about it and be happy with a life of struggle.

But how do we know if our attitude is right or not? How do we decide if our approach to life is one that will benefit us in the long run? Well, the first step is to understand what our attitude is. We can ask ourselves questions like: Am I honest? Am I kind?

Am I a good neighbor? Do I treat other people well? Do I deserve to be happy? The answers to these questions are going to help us determine our right and wrong behavior.

Next we need to decide whether our actions are in alignment with our goals. If we are not living our lives in the manner that we want to live then our goals will not be met. If we are not treating others well, our goals may need to be adjusted. If we are not being kind to ourselves, our behavior may need to change.

Once we understand what our goals are and whether or not we are living in the way that is appropriate for achieving them, we may need to change our attitude toward others. If we are being kind and treat others well we may develop a healthy sense of compassion. If we are behaving unprofessionally though we may need to curb this out-of-hand. If we are living an unbalanced life with excess guilt and faults then our relationships may need to be adjusted so that we feel better about ourselves. All of these things affect our attitude and can make a huge difference in our ability to deal with others.

The first step to changing our attitude is to recognize what it is that is not right. We may need to alter our behavior or change our attitude until we are living in the right manner. Then we can begin to feel better about ourselves and our ability to cope. Once we have made the changes necessary, we can start on achieving our goals and improve our relationships.

It is important that we don't spend all of our time focused on others. We need to spend some time looking at ourselves as well. We need to determine what our true goals are and how we are going to get to them. This will help keep us in the right frame of mind and give us the motivation we need to continue. When we take the time to really look at ourselves, we may be surprised to see how different we really are from those around us. Once we know this we can make better choices and live our lives the way we were meant to.

We also need to remember who we are. We may have developed negative feelings toward those who are different from us, such as overweight people, or those who smoke or do drugs. We may not like having these people around and try to avoid them. This is not healthy. We need to learn to value the differences that we have instead of trying to avoid them.


In order for us to change our attitude about ourselves we need to find out what it is that we really want out of life. If we know what we truly want then it becomes easier to build a path for getting there. We also need to remember that we can't rush our improvement. Our current circumstances may not always be the best that we can be at that particular moment. If we believe that we can change them for the better we can and will.
