Change Your Perspective - Feel Happier

How can you change your perspective in a difficult situation? A person's power to change perspectives during challenging times is one of your greatest opportunities to succeed. Just think of your perspective as your mindset or attitude in life. If you always have a pessimistic attitude, even in the face of adversity, then you're likely to have a pessimistic attitude about life in general.


On the other hand, if you take a positive attitude and focus on the positive in life, even in the face of adversity, then you'll tend to have more positive outlooks about life. People with a pessimistic perspective are often pessimistic about the world in general. If you want to change your perspective, even in a tough situation, you need to make a positive attitude your default attitude. And in the process, you'll shift your negative "mind set" into a more positive "mind set."

There are many types of perspectives on life, including pessimism, optimism, and negativity. The only viewpoint that really matters is your own. As Dr. Norman Vincent Peal wrote in his book, "You can be neutral in a crisis or in any difficult situation, provided that you're not judging yourself. Your judgments are only opinions, nothing more. You have the power to decide how you see things and to make changes that will benefit you."

In order to change your perspective, you first need to change your thoughts so that you can accept the reality of the situation and put things in perspective. Once you can do this, your next step is to work on changing your emotions so that you become happier. When you become happy, you can handle whatever comes your way better. And when you're happier, you can be a better co-worker, spouse, friend, or parent.

One of the keys to changing perspective is to eliminate all the negative thoughts that can lead you to stress, anger, and other negative situations. For example, if you think that you're doing a bad job at work, instead of changing your perspective to "just another day at work," you might instead decide that you're going to go home and watch a sitcom. When you replace the word "stressful" with "awesome" or "lucky," you'll start seeing things in a new light.

It's also helpful to realize that while we perceive many different things in our lives, our perspective on those things can often be the same. For example, many people perceive their personal relationships as being complicated and difficult. However, those in a committed relationship sometimes perceive their relationship as less problematic than those who are single. This is because they view themselves in the same frame of mind as their significant other. Their focus is no longer on the negative aspects of their lives, but on the positives of being in a loving, committed relationship.

Another way to change your perspective and change your feelings happier is to find something within yourself that you admire and adore. Try to identify a quality of yourself that you're very grateful for and put that quality into practice. Think about how you feel when you do a good job, or when you have something really important to say or share. List all the ways you feel truly wonderful about yourself each day. When you can identify your good qualities in your life, you can replace negative thoughts with positive ones.


If you want to change perspective, change your perspective on the world around you. Instead of seeing bad things happen to good people, substitute good events with positive events. Watch a positive movie, listen to positive music, and read positive books. When you view the world this way, you'll be surprised by how much happier you can be. You may even find that you get out of the house more, enjoy more activities, and accomplish more. Just by changing how you look at things, and replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, you can achieve great things.
