A Special Gift Restored

in #freewrite5 years ago (edited)

I don't consider myself particularly lucky, but I must say this time I experienced a good bit of luck.

Last week I returned home from work and, as usual, changed into casual attire. I had worn a sweater and leggings to work and, to dress the outfit up, I wore a pair of abalone drop earrings I received as a gift from our brother. This summer Mark gave his three sisters a pair of these earrings, pictured, to commemorate meeting our adopted sister, Karen, for the very first time.

Mark, Karen and I met a short distance from my home at a brewery. Our youngest sister, Adrianne, couldn't make the trip to Pennsylvania from Florida because she had other obligations, but Mark mailed her a matching pair of the same earrings he presented to Karen and me.

I removed one earring and discovered that the other was gone. I looked in the discarded sweater and around the room and then back tracked my steps to the living room, but it was truly gone. I was disheartened and sent up a prayer for it's restoration, but felt it was lost to me.

The following day, I checked all around my desk area at work, but the earing was not there.

Two days later, my boyfriend Jeff brought me home and was heading to his house when suddenly he turned around at the door and came to my room. In his hand was my missing earring! I was so happy and sent a quick prayer of thanks upward.

So was it luck, or prayers answered? I think God indulged me for the sentimental value I placed on the earings. Whatever it is, I am joyful that my earning is back again.

@wandrnrose7, i must be lucky enough to read your freewrite. Simply awesome.

So was it luck, or prayers answered?

My answer is that your Prayers have been answered! Why? because they are heartfelt prayers and God loves to respond to those prayers filled with "Immovable Faith."

Merry Christmas @wandrnrose7
