Whale Wars (steem-cartoon)

Hello Steemians ,

This is my first post to steem-cartoons . Credits to my buddy @branlee87 and my former lecturer @sireh for telling me about this group . Here is my steem-cartoon that I came up with after my friend told me about a whale war currently going on on steemit . First thing I pictured when he said that was an epic underwater battle happening with these huge mammals equipped with battle armor and weapons .

After going through a few pics of whales , I come across the Sperm whale who has a massive front face/head . Then I thought what if he uses that part of his body as a weapon . So I imagined him as a certain class of soldier which is kinda like a batering ram and with the help of booster rockets , inflicts massive blunt force trauma.

So the first thing that I did before starting to draw was to look for image references . Here's one :

Next I did a rough sketch in photoshop.

Then I traced over it on another layer with a more detailed line art .

I pick my colors and put them in , it took me a few tries until I was pretty satisfied with this combination

Now it's all about adding in highlights , shadows and extra details

Finally I put in some glow for the booster rockets , added some texture and it's done !
