Portrait Photography Contest Entry - The Self Portrait

My entry for this week's Portrait Photography Contest organized by @juliank.

So one of the challenges a photographer friend of mine put out to people was to get out from behind the camera and take some self portraits. I've seen some amazing photos over the past year of people who accepted the challenge. I am in awe of them to be honest but I am still very much an amateur so I lurk on these pages inspired by such talent.

One day I finally decided to go for it. I've taken 5000+ photos over the summer and I'm not in any of them. I set up the tripod and camera, hit the timer and the camera clicks. I look tenses. The crouch is awkward. There are shadows over the eyes so the hat was a bad idea but ... it hides that I've got greys. oh well. This is not a prize winning self portrait but it marks that I was here, it's stamped in time.
