RE: Writing course / Curso de escritura #wewrite - L4
It is a strict rule because many are not used to comment and have no idea what to write. Again I like to state that this is a writing course.
To those not used to comment guidelines are needed. It's a pity this isn't part of the #newcomers certificate.
If rules aren't set there's no way to teach that:
- content should be read,
- it is important to read details/between the lines,
- it helps to build an opinion, wonder, and ask a question to open a conversation,
- it is important to give a tip or advice (frequently a question is asked but ignored by most Steemians)
- to help out to improve (edit) the text
- to engage/bond, be noticed and receive upvotes
Focus topic contest
If you want to keep the focus on the main topic it's wise not to ask to add 3- 5 pictures. Nothing as distracting as that!
Also, if that is the case you have a lot of work to do and the hashtag #creativewriting should not be abused but hashtags with clear topics only and not one with your name in it.
This is what I notice with your contest and most others. Why nit help to promote content on the internet using hashtags people would search for worldwide? Where is that topic?
I also rarely see a host respond and explain how to improve. It's more like quick posting of a contest where not even the rules set make sense (I gladly show you some examples).
Every community has the right to set the language.
English was always the standard since it is the world language.
I ask you: Why is it expected from me to copy-paste every text in google or deepl to translate and a community is not allowed to ask to write in English? Is it really that much asked to add an English translation (didn't you state everyone can translate)? It sounds like the world upside down to me if you ask from me what others should not do.
If it comes to being unwelcome
I have that feeling with plenty communities from the moment I started on Steemit/and I am by far not the only one and that is why we all stay in our comfort zone and many miss the opportunity to try out something new and grow.
Btw; back then I was even rejected as I refused to pay to be a member and at the start of this year I've been told more than once my entry /post wasn't welcome/not valid because I did not benefit the community or followed the rules (template - questionnaire) although it was asked to be very creative!
Next to that I rarely feel welcome in Spanish speaking communities because I do not speak Spanish meaning I simply do not post there. There are plenty communities if I want to post or I post in my own where no one asks me to pay and I can write and try out what I like to know without being restricted.
Thus far no community brought me any benefits and by now there are only a few where I like to post mainly because they stand for a topic and the fact they are not huge and still try to engage.
If it comes to the course: joining is a free choice and if so those who join can expect to follow certain rules. Rules of the Steemit Team, rules set by communities and rules set by the course/lesson. What is the point of teaching if everyone does as he likes and we are fine with that? If that is the case this course is just an easy way to receive an upvote from sc01 forbsec-hunters, those not willing to invest.
There are many "barriers" and I wonder if your next contest will be posted in: English, Spanish, German, Indonesian, Italian, Bangladeshi, Dutch, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Turkish, andso on to make everyone feel welcome to join. 🤔 Is it doable?
What are the languages of the communities you post in? Did you ever check them?
Thanks for the great talk, it's good to hear an opinion.
A great day and happy writing.

I'm against the rules on the number of comments or mentions in competitions. But: You are not organising a competition! You are giving a course on how to establish common behaviour on a blogging platform. Writing style, dealing with followers, etc. And this also includes training this commenting behaviour, making it a matter of course. With your tasks, you ensure that authors understand the importance of maintaining relationships with their readers and acquire the corresponding skills.
That indeed is the intention. If you want to ne noticed you should act and connect and be willing to read and answer if someone comments or replies on your comment.
If you can write you can comment and making a habit out of reading/commenting on 3 posts per day is not too much asked.
A great day to you and thank you for sharing your opinion.

Hi everyone, like any contest or tutorial we are free either join it or ignore it. By now we all learn how we write and what we write in our own way. This tutorial seems to be one that is aiming to help a user to develop the writing skills and to improve yourself.
You all know that if we want to achieve good result we need to follow the instruction and see if we get such result if now we can ask how to improve. I actually now recalled the English Language test "IELTS" that is a test that people have to pass if they would like to find a job in English speaking countries like UK, Australia, NZ and I know that even if person who speaks and write very well easily fails because in writing part of test there should be some rules followed.
I believe this exercise is very good for those who would like to improve both their writing and their language.
Also, to add on, if someone has an interesting topic and immersed into it, the product of his creativity easily can end up with the comment of 500+.
Important to have a will, motivation and just try and you will be positively surprised
Thank you for your valuable information. A test like that every country should have. It sounds like a burden to me if you always depend on others because you are not able to read your contracts, bills, and so on.
A good weekend to you.
Thanks for the input and vote.

Oh no you get it all wrong, I wasn't against commenting, yeah you can check out my reply again, but adding the links to our comments in the main post. And I also state that meaningful, concise feedback is valuable too.
As for the community, I'm not against their rules, because they have the right to make one, but was only suggesting that an adjustment could be made for those who couldn't write in English, maybe 🤔 asking them to publish directly from their blog.
AHH you know that I can't do this, because any user can translate the contest to his/her preferred language, and I wouldn't ask them to publish in two languages because I can do the same. All the same it was nice sharing our different opinions. Do have a great day too 💕
