Do it yourself - How to change a bike's tire?
It's two days ago I asked how to change a bike's tire.
The bike shop was not willing to do it so I gave it a try myself. It's the first time I did this and so far I didn't succeed. The answers I became were not all helpful but I watched three videos, this one to start with and came to the conclusion: the tire sold to me does not fit on the wheel (I took the wheel + old tire with me to the shop and bought the bike at that place). That customer unfriendly man simply didn't care.
My kid and I managed to pull it on yesterday but the inner tube was damaged. We removed the tire and repaired it (two holes).
After that we gave it a second try and guess what? We did it exactly the same way as showed in this video and the others we watched.
After watching several videos I searched the world wide web since steem lets me down.
Apparently I am not the only one with a tire that does not fit around the wheel! Search for it and you will be amazed to read how many deal with this problem and what people tried to make it fit.
I put the tire outside in the sun but nothing changed. No way it became softer and I could easily pull it over the wheel. It makes me mad and that's bad for me and that guy of the bike shop. It's eating me I have more damage as before. Next week I will drive over to...
This will never fit. I nearly broke my spoons. I tried a screwdriver with the same result. The tire does not stretch out. The youngest put the miserable wheel with the half done job in the car with the old tire. I do not count on it but who knows it melts in there.

Yeah put some Vaseline on. Look if the size of the tires are the same.
Normally it is quite simple but sometimes it takes some manpower to put the new tire on.
If the size is the same it must fit otherwise just go back to the store and explain normally it doesn't fit and gently ask for another tire.
Het past voor geen meter. Er zit geen rek in de made in Thailand band. Wellicht ligt dit ook aan het soort velg. Uitrekken van de band lukt ook niet of je moet het met 2 auto's doen. Ik heb geprobeerd de bank erop te wippen maar wat je ook gebruikt buigt of breekt en de velg raakt beschadigd. Volgende week ga ik die band brengen.
Zitten we dus helemaal zonder fietsen want 1 staat op school en school is gesloten en de ander dus die band.

I managed it... The tire became very warm in the car, nearly broke three more spoons.. Let's hope the inner tube isn't damaged. I will find out about it tomorrow. Happy Sunday. 💕
