Smoking

This photograph is from an amazing engagement session we did last year. The Bride to be worse an amazing black ball gown and the grown wore a suit, we have a range of couple who dress casual to couples that go all out for their shoots like this couple! It doesn't really matter to us what they wear as long as they are comfortable but these guys looked awesome! They had brought 30 (yes 30!) smoke bombs with them too, we have tried to stay away from using them as they tend to look a little cheesy so when I got this idea for a shot I wanted to use the smoke in a unique way! The backdrop of this stunning gothic building created all the drama, I placed the smoke bomb upright behind them with a gel flash too and ran around to the front after setting it off! The smoke did just what I wanted and went straight up creating this amazing plume effect, it was looked awesome! I was only able to get one or two shots as the smoke bombs give off an awful smell and get quite out of control so we asked the couple to safely move out of the way! Unlike most of the shots I take this one is a lot more staged but I am glad that for once my ideas actually came together!!
