Hi everyone! I just wanted to take the time to tell you about my @curie story.
So when I joined Steemit last December I didn't quite know what I was getting into, nor did I think that I would have anything of value to give to the community. As a professional photographer my last 8 years of business have revolved around taking photographs for money. We started our career as we had a passion for photography and knew we wanted to do it long term, however over the last 8 years it had turned into a monotonous job which is just a shame. We haven't been picking our cameras up for fun or to capture OUR lives in years... that was until I joined Steemit. I realised that I was going to have to take more photographs for content if I was going to get anywhere and so I began thinking of new projects and going on adventures.
Of course I was willing to do this with little or no reward as I had now regained my passion for photography again, so I was so happy! But when I first got my @curie vote I was ecstatic, the fact that they thought my post and content was of any value was really amazing. Me and mu husband have been photographing weddings for over 8 years together and although I know I bring a lot to our jobs when I recieved my Curie vote for something I had done on my OWN it really was a proud moment. I don't expect to get them every time and that's fine, but @curie have given me so much inspiration and passion to carry on and the feeling of what I am doing is of some kind of value!
I have started projects, including my "Lost in Time" series where I revive old lost negatives, which I just wouldn't have started otherwise. I have really found new interests and hope that they continue to help other Steemians do the same!
