Rudy Hartono Kurniawan (Hanzi: 梁 海量, Nio Hap Liang, Phonetic translations of his Indonesian name into Chinese: 哈托诺 Hatuonuo, born in Surabaya, East Java, August 18, 1949, age 68) is a former Indonesian badminton player. He never won the world championship in 1980, and the All England Championships for 8 times in the 1960s and 1970s. imageAfter a while joining his father's group, Rudy finally decided to move to a larger badminton group, the Rajawali Group, a group that has spawned many badminton players around the world. At the beginning of joining the group, Rudy felt he had found the best group to develop his badminton talent. But after discussing with his father, Rudy admitted that if he wanted his career in badminton to rise he would have to move to a better training ground, so Rudy decided to move to the Thomas Cup Training Center in late 1965. Shortly after , Rudy's appearance is getting better. In fact he took part in winning the Thomas Cup for Indonesia in 1967. At the age of 18, for the first time Rudy won the All England Champion title by beating Tan Aik Huang of Malaysia with the final result 15-12 and 15-9.
