A hectic journey to my village today

in #nigeria7 years ago

Jeez what da f**k... I regret my life today, damn 😔

It all started this morning, I woke up from bed with the normal Sunday routine (bath and go to church) but the other mind told me not to {this always happens to me every Sunday, one mind says go, the other says don't} but by God's grace, I tried and conquer the bad mind and follow the good mind by going to the church lol..

But today? Was a different scenario, I've been intending to pay a visit to my grandma, since it's been a while I last visited her, so I decided instead of going to church today, I'll go and see my mama. So finally I made up my mind. It was already 11am as at the time of making up my mind..
So I went to a friends room to collect gas burner (daily routine 🚶) which I'll use to boil bathing water, because I gave out mine to a friend before going for holidays and he's yet to resume. But then I realized there's light, so I used my electric cooker instead to save some gas..

Now, here's where the awkward day started, after bathing and dressing, I moved out, took a couple of selfies and set for my little journey, after trekking half a kilometer under heavy sunshine to where I can board bus to Enugu town, I realized I forgot my laptop bag [but hey, what the heck will I need a laptop for in the village? After all I'm not spending the night there] well I just decided to go back and pick it up!

Then I boarded a bus from Agbani to Enugu, reaching the pack, I paid #200 transport fare to my village, I was the first passenger, but a few minutes later the bus was filled up so we embarked on our journey.. Moving and moving, skrraaa , I heard a man behind me said 'Praise the Lord' "in my mind, nah! imageNot again, why all these people: I'm really feeling serious headache here".. If you stay in Enugu and you board commercial buses all the time you'll know what I'm talking about, these are preachers who preach on every buses they enter, making everyone in the business uncomfortable (I'm not against the gospel but I really don't like them).

This man was preaching seriously, I mean he was shouting right into my ear, I couldn't hold it any longer, I have to cover my ear with my hands, I wish he realized how uncomfortable I was but he'll no, he kept on shouting, the worst part is that he wasn't preaching sensibly, this man wasn't straight to the point, he was just pointing out people's sins and atrocities and placing blames, in my mind (damn it man, why can't you tell them how to avoid that sin, they already know they're sinning show them the way out not adding more pains to their wound) making them feel guilty.

Next thing was, I remembered I had my earpiece in my pocket so I brought it out and plug in, tuned my music to the loudest 🔊 image(woo-hoo what a relief) and I was seriously shaking my head in tune to the music, boom and the journey continues even though I was feeling headache though!

Few minutes later, the man at the front seat, close to the driver started talking, facing me directly, image I taught he was talking to me, so I removed one ear of my earphone to listen, well, he was adding to what the man behind left, damn! I plugged my earphone back immediately.
As at then, I was already close to my destination, almost to where I'll stop, our car hit a gallop and I jammed my head to a handle beside me because I was sitting near window image right behind the driver seat, adding to my headache 😔.. But immediately the car stopped I highlighted with speed and never looked back 🏃.

Then, I boarded a bike to take me in to our house, went in, greeted my grandma, met my uncle who came for a visit too, we sit and chatted for a few minutes, then a friend of his called from Enugu and wanted to meet up. My said said if I should go back to Enugu and pick up the friend for him(Jeez, I just highlighted from a terrible bus, not this again 😢) why me today.. But I can't help it but go than to disobey him, so we set out to the main road in search of bus going back to Enugu, took 30mins of standing under the sun before we could get one bus because it was Sunday, then I entered, we reached Enugu, I met the person, took him to pack. Lo and behold their was no single bus going at the moment, we have to wait for a returning bus, and it came, I placed him on board and went home, already I've decided not to come back since I already came, planning to visit again next week!

What a horrible experience for me yesterday, worst journey ever, even though it was short, not as if I don't travel, I travel a lot but I really don't like it!
