Godzilla resurgance - review
GO see it.
THats it review over..
Hehe- well i guess i have to say something about the moive. I was lucky enough to get to see it in hollywood this weekend.
just saw the new Godzilla movie - BEST GODZILLA movie ever - Deeply impressed - it was a lot of fun.
It's a movie about disaster, radioactive disaster too. It's a modern take on Godzilla with modern weapons instead of the old 1950's wwII style tanks and planes.
There were two very well placed surprises in the movie, maybe 3, and that's the mark of a good director with the misdirection.
there is humor, to be sure, but it comes from seeing the bureaucracy trying to cope with the disaster. The huge conferences to decide things. democracy at work. but it was very funny at some points.
They also had some great were figuring it out moments.
all in all this director likes to celebrate people, and the kindness people working together for the common good. putting their differences aside ect.
If you like the old Godzilla movies, you will absolutely love this new one, modern day version. I've heard of some people complain about the effects, but being an effects person, i assure you - they were well done. There are some very complex effects shots - the biggest being Tokyo demolition of buildings ontop of Godzilla - very good.
some of the effects though are a bit hokey, but i think that was homage to the original godzilla movies more than anything. at least thats what i thought - it was too perfectly matched from old movies.
Being an effects artist - this of great interest to me- I'd love to let you aspiring artists know - BIG A+ films like this you can work on easily when you just keep the work ahead of you. Working on a movie of this caliber is just like doing those practice shots - its the same techniques. Have the confidence!! Aim for the gold.
here are some of the effects that were done for it.
how is it i can have 71 votes but 0 dollars?
