I had been trading online for years. 

Different types of products, but basically if it could be traded I was going to trade it. ETFs, options, currencies were some of my favorites.

I had even tried my hand at Bitcoin for a few weeks.  

Overall, the results were mixed. Some years I would do outstanding and make enough to support myself and others I would finish the year in the red. 

This went on for years. Luckily for me the lean years weren't that big of an issue because I had built up enough to support myself over the years. Plus I didn't have anyone else to support, it was just me.

The beginning of something new

Then one day as I was trading my favorite Silver product (SLV ETF) I happened to spot a fresh, young looking man, full of vision on my CNBC news station.

I believe it was Ned Scott (the CEO of Steemit).

He was talking about a startup he was working on that paid people to blog and interact. I thought, you know, that sounds like something that could change the world. That sounds like the future of social media to me.

However, life got in the way and I forgot to make an account and really get involved on the platform. 

Then, some months later I remembered and did a google search on steem and steemit. 

I can't remember what came up exactly, but it seemed to be a post about how to make money on steemit. It had some really good earnings attached to it. After I saw that I knew I needed to create an account immediately. 

As they say, the rest is history!
