Someone Else

The Dragon's Head Tavern and Inn, Vorland, 1439 ATC

Kira had returned to the tavern.

And brought a wicker basket with a pair of pale twins inside them.

Venser had been in a wispy daze as the demon barmaid girl tried to talk to him.

The pale skinned demon girl with long black hair and big dark eyes looked over her shoulder towards her brother as a pepper shaker from the table was picked up and tossed at him.

After a single blink of the eye a light ZING could be heard and the pepper shaker dropped to the floor appearing to be cut in half perfectly. The pepper poofed up and slowly settled.

HACHOO!

The pale girl with long black hair cleared her throat, "He is the only one I left alive... I told him to get out of my sight... Honestly after all this time I did consider him dead." She huffed.

"I have a real fucked up life." Kira Kurai muttered under her breath with a shake of her head. Then turned back to their daughter, Sora, who was slowly stretching within the blanket. The newborn twins had black hair and pale white skin each, and grass green eyes and adorable little faces.

''I don't even know what's happening in my life anymore.'' Venser said taking a swig of his huckleberry cider.

Kira Kurai moved to shift the basket a little so she could pick the boy up into her arms, their son, Soka, who was albino far paler than his sister and mother, as he too was beginning to stretch and coo.

"Well, what do you want to do with it? Your life." She wiggled her own nose a bit and adjusts herself.

"Right now? I am gonna go take a piss and then come back and continue relaxing." The handsome bearded man said standing up and walking away down the hall, reaching out to smile and tickle Soka's stomach.

Kira watched Venser walk off, then carefully placed Soka back into the big black wicker basket. Then would move to take the light blanket to place it over the opening with a small peeked opening for air.

"Satashi, I will meet you in the carriage. Thank you for your help." She spoke with a bit of a smile, then watched her brother slowly turn to open the door and let himself out quietly.

As the rain would fall Rabiah of Neema made her way by foot up the road to what looked to her to be a inn. She didn't look like much just a girl in a black tunic with a hood. Her dark locks would be pulled back into what one would describe as a messy bun that would reveal her dark mocha colored skin and her purple-green eyes. She would look at up at the sign as she came closer. "The Dragon's Head Tavern and Inn..." The patron would look at the door and shrug before she would push it open and go inside, anything was better thanspeaking to speaking soaking town in the rain. She entered and the warm air of the Tavern would greet her as she took her first few steps inside.

Rabiah would pull her hood down as soon as she got inside and saw to her surprise the place was relatively quiet normally taverns were loud and boisterous. She would slowly make her way up the stairs where she would see a bar and she would quietly sit down at the far left corner and lean over the counter on her elbows as she would call over the sandy haired barmaid, sniffing the air. Were those fresh scones she smelled?

Kira Kurai was still sitting at the table waiting for her brother to finish with preparing to leave, she watched as the doors of the tavern come to an open twice now. Revealing a female patron coming out from the rain. It was nice to see People still coming here to enjoy a good drink. Kira did not work here but she used to. She watched Brea come along and easily serve the patrons with whatever they desired. Kira peeked once more in the basket to make sure the children were asleep before getting up to take ahold of the handle and hoist it within her arms.

Rabiah would glance over at the woman who had spoke and she would smile, her purplish green eyes would flicker with light and shadows would swirl under her feet. "Is it always this quiet here?" She would ask. The girl figured that if she was going to be here she may as well make some kind of conversation.

"Normally no. Tonight is a slow and peaceful." Replied Brea.

"So, yeah. Since we're catching up and all..." Venser said returning and gesturing to the wall nearby.

On the wall there was a gold and crimson poster on the wall featuring his face. He had a dtermined and confident look and above his handsome face, the words, ''Karkaldwin's Fine Cannabis''. And below his face aist of prices and products.

"Yeah.''

Her elbow came up to rest on the counter top while her cheek rested on a lightly fisted hand. Kira then leaned back in her chair to gaze at a sign selling cannabis products staring Venser himself. "Looks like you have been busy, then."

"You know me. Very busy, always trying to get coin. Going on adventures, meeting pretty women. You've been busy as well... It's good to meet Sora and Soka."

Her gaze lowered to peer at the wicker basket in particular at his state of fact. "That is correct." Kira nodded.

"So I have a farm and a huge house now with several servants, cigar stands in several cities not just Capital De Seraphim but Wicked Port and No Name Port lotta port cities...'' He was not in any of his usual suits but merely his crimson and turqouise entertainer's tunic, with a black cloak and hood. The hood draped over his head and hiding most of his face.

''Kinda feel like laying by the fire now... Come, Kira. And bring the kids."

"Venser." Kira interupted before he could go any further.

"I'm here to tell you I'm leaving, with the children. For good."

The bearded bartender who sat down hiccuped and mumbled some gibberish before he raised his hands again. ''Oh I- Hic! Wait, why? You know I can offer you and your children a proper home at Villa De Karkaldwin. And you stormed off in the first place and disappeared for months!"

The impatience in Kira's expression was easily read, and she rose from her seat with a bit of urgency. But that emotion fully faded as she slumped back down in the chair and leaned forward with her hand now against her forehead.

"Are you angry that I did so?" Kira asked. Her eyes then roamed the taverns interior with her heart beating at an uncomfortable pace. Looking down at the wicker basket to the children they created. Their cute innocent faces. Suddenly the sound of the door opening and slamming shut could be heard. Causing her to sit a bit more properly to not welcome a stir. A woman wearing cloak had stepped towards the bar. Kira would give a polite nod of the head in greeting. Yet her attention went back onto the inebriated Venser as they sat there awkwardly now.

''No. Shit happens, ya gotta go continue to fight and all that. Shit happens in a few months."' He knocked over yet another one of his empty cider bottles and reached into his belt, setting down a silver tin and opening it up. He picked some herbs out of it and removed a cannabis cigar and lit up, taking a long drag. Exhaling greenish white smoke after putting it back on. ''It's been busy for me as always... And for you... Yeah."

The black haired demon girl looked Venser up and down as he still was on a change of subject. Even though he spoke of her leaving was not a big deal.. But if someone repeats themselves.. It could lead to worry.

And it was obvious he wasn't saying how he truly felt.

"I want to be with my family." She finally spoke. "My... Other. Family."

''Sounds like a vauge and... I mean, you brought your brother. Who else is there?" Venser asked puffing on his cannabis cigar again, mumbling and getting out of his seat to move around the bar to assist a shadow tendril with some patrons. He knocked over yet another bottle and it shattered behind the bar.

''Ale and...'' He was barefooted and stepped on the broken glass behind the bar, the loud crunch very audible.

''AH! FUCK... DEMON ANTS!''

Kira then leaned back in her chair, the tavern was starting to get busy. She still wanted answers, and she did not want her anger to rise out of being in the dark. But she could not control this situation at hand. This was another 'Venser moment' right?

Kira couldn't even laugh at his absurdity anymore.

"I... This has been hard to say. But Venser, I met someone else. And I'm taking our twins with me, and I dont think I'm coming back." Kira would take a stand, her height still rather short for she always appeared to be a maiden in waiting. Her skin still flawless, eyes still holding brilliant color and not a spec was out of place from what anyone could see. But her aura... Was slightly off. It was lighter. Much Lighter.

Venser ignored the pain in his feed and leaned against the bar looking fo her.

"But wait can't we-"

“Save it. This will hurt me far more than it’ll hurt you. You‘re not the one I‘m looking for. And I've been feeling as if our relationship has been crumbling for a while now.”

"I mean... Maybe you need... No... I just dont know what to say right now, Kira." The handsome bearded man uttered.

Kira Kurai gave a bow, and then to the other bartender on duty who didn't pay her much mind and tended to the other patrons. Holding her wicker basket closely.

"Goodbye." The demon girl spoke softly, then would proceed down the wooden stairs and out the door in silence and Venser just stood there with pained feet and a blank expression on his bearded face.

He would never see Kira's, Sora, or Soka's faces again.
