Meet Romeo
He will change your life if you welcome him into your home. You will become the most important person in his life. You will be responisble for meeting all his needs just as you would a child but also become a flock member and leader all in one. I didn't know anything about being a flock member or leader when we first met but as the years have passed by I learn new things about this every day. I am really happy to be reunited with my flock and experience the good and bad of this fact every day.

Thank you, the cost of buying a parrot is the smallest expense, the cage is more expensive than the Parrot. Toys, vet costs, and food are not cheap either, he was $1000 because we hand fed him ourselves, if we waited until he was weaned it would be $1500, you are exactly correct. He speaks some phrases and a lot of words, he knows the correct time to use these words which always amazes me. Very smart.
Very nice blue and gold macaw!
We breed and export African Grey parrots from when I were little, like 5 years old. We hand rear them ourselves and ensure that they are tame.
They are also very good at talking, just like the blue and gold macaw, just not as beautiful!

They are fun when they are young and unweaned, a lot of work when they are older. I wanted an african grey but my wife wanted a macaw so she won. Greys are much better talkers but not as beautiful I agree :)
I agree! I think one of the problems with a macaw is its size as well! Much harder to handle and let them walk freely around, where that might not have been the case with a grey.
Romeo is full flighted, he doesn't do much walking around, he can fly very well and get through hallways and into doors if he wants. Of course his wings are hitting the walls... he has about a 4ft wingspan. he is young so he is very active, wants constant attention and to always be playing. I hope someday he will calm down!! he gives about 1-2 hours of chill time a day where he is very calm and cuddly..sometimes less :) Great thing about full flight is he is also potty trained and can always fly to the stand to poop!
That's awesome! Very glad to hear that you allow him to be full flighted! It must be beautiful seeing such an amazing bird in flight! Not sure if they calm down over time, but I'm sure they do. I do however think its going to be in a few years, because they can get quite old.
How did you potty train him? It will be awesome to potty train some of our parrots.
i didn't really even try to potty train him, but when he would poop on the stand how would applaud and get very happy, and he just started flying to the stand to hear this applause i guess, he did it when he was very young. It is amazing to watch him fly, he can navigate so well it's amazing, I want to find a school or a gym that would be willing to let me fly him indoors.....difficult to find as there aren't many around and I don't think they would do it. I keep my hopes up

I think you can maybe incorporate it with an informational class for the children and for your service you may be able to use their hall or something like that.
