The power of life

Once it was a huge mighty tree, overstepped, perhaps, a hundred-year boundary. Its branches and trunk became decrepit, with each passing year it is harder to endure winters and winds. In one of the days (whether it was in summer or in winter, if the wind knew little if any), the trunk fell to the ground, leaving a high stump, from which life revived.
