Bintulu Korean Restaurant - Best Authentic Korean Cuisine!
I am a huge fan of Korean food especially the kimchi and japchae. And the best place to have authentic Korean food is at Bintulu Korean Restaurant in Lintas Plaza, Kota Kinabalu.
Less than 20 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu City, Bintulu Korean Restaurant is owned by Mr. Han Eung Kyo who is very friendly although speaks very little in Bahasa Melayu.
The restaurant was divided into two sections. One section is more to usual sitting with table and chairs and the other section is Korean inspired seating - to sit on the floor to dine. This section requires you to take off your footwear and place it at the provided shoe racks.
The restaurant is equipped with air ventilation, fully air-conditioned and each table comes with a sizzling BBQ plate.
THE MENU
We often ordered the honey lemon marinated pork but today, we thought of ordering something simple yet satisfying. Oh, Bintulu Korean Restaurant is known with their specialty - the honey lemon or honey marinated pork.
WHAT WE'VE ORDERED?
Blackpepper marinated pork
Marinated sotong or calamari
Boiled pork meat with sauce
Jabchae
Lettuce with ssamjang
Banchan
Crispy seaweed which we got it for free!
MY REVIEW OF THE FOOD.
I love the black pepper marinated pork as it was marinade perfectly and I can really taste the flavour. It was a perfect combination to eat with the lettuce, ssamjang and kimchi.
The boiled pork meat is a bit bland for my liking. I guess that is the purpose of the sauce. To be honest, I much preferred if it's grilled 😆.
The japchae is perfectly cooked too. Not too dry and the carrots are crunchy when I munched.
I was hoping they served more varieties for the banchan since I am not really a fan of luffa and water spinach although they do serve fried anchovies or butternut squash when I dined there before.
THE SERVICE
Apart from being friendly, Mr. Han took his time and chat for us a while. He even told us that we can get free ice cream 'potong' and allow us to bring back home if we are too stuffed to eat it right away. His staffs are very helpful, courteous and prompt with all our needs.
