Was worth a try I guess :-)

Never saw it. That's the nature of steemit right now

2004 Honda CR500LE

Absolute mother fucker to kickstart the first time of the day. My 150lbs plus gear drop kicking it for 30 mins eventually gets it started but then I'm too tired to ride. After it has ran once I can sissy kick it easily

@hunterisgreat Even when these bikes are in good condition they may be a handful to start. I've seen some CR 500's wear the kick-start pivot so badly that you can't get a good healthy kick anymore. One trick I have known to sometimes work is to stand next to the bike and lean her over until fuel spills out the carburetor over-flow hose a little bit. This will give it a richer mixture for starting. The mid 80's CR 500's were brutal bikes to kick. Once or twice in the past I have added a extra base gasket or two to lower the compression on a XT 500, This can help make it easier to start also.

A good starting point might be to either gap or replace the plug, sometimes a slightly hotter plug or smaller plug gap can also help with cold starting.

I hope this was helpful, please let me know how it goes, Cheerz
