Greetings From Texas on TreeTuesday!
This tree is growing at my favorite place in Dallas:
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden!
Does anyone know what kind of tree this is by looking at the bark and leaves?
It's an old tree - around 70-80 feet tall.
Isn't this a pretty spot where this tree is growing on the arboretum grounds?
Have a Blessed Day!

Lovely old tree. It has definitely seen some history. The rough bark makes me think oak but clearly not the leaves. Hmmm. Very peaceful spot for this tree that appears to have had a tough life.
I love trees like this that have such cool character to them
Don't the tree but looks like it has seen life for quite some time. Thanks for showing it to us.
Yes, it does look like it has been around for awhile and made it through some storms!
Honestly @violetmed it looks like some kind of oak tree.
It is not the kind of Oak Tree I am familiar seeing in Oak Park near Chicago. It looks more like an Oak Tree in Korea or somewhere in Asia especially in the trunk structure. I wonder if the area you are at has any mountains?
Looking at the leaves I think you guys could use a little more rain. Thanks for sharing. Sorry I couldn't help you much. By the way my oldest son is sometimes found swinging from similar trees. He has a hard time keeping his feet on the ground.
My brother and I and my friends all loved to climb the trees in our yards as kids! My brother’s “tree house” in our yard growing up consisted of a flat piece of wood with no sides. Haha we loved it - he and I were very close - played together all the time! He was 16 months younger than me! You just inspired me - I may make a post about that on treetuesday!
Great story. If you have the tree I would love to see it. I have come across trees in the forest with a "tree house" as you described.
so beautiful tree and great nature.
thanks @violetmed for sharing.
I hope your support for me
I have no idea what kind of tree it is, but I agree it is in a lovely location. That would be a fun tree to climb
Too bad I can't answer that question, @violetmed. I hardly know about trees. What is certain is that it is very leafy and beautiful. The place he's in looks magical, like a fairy tale. It is a very well kept botanical garden. As always, thank you for those beautiful pictures. It's raining over here!
I hope you are enjoying your rain!
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. As I live near the sea, it rains very little here. Plants and people appreciate the rain. Beautiful night!
it shouldn't be difficult to ask the people in charge of the Botanical Garden, I imagine they will know what kind of tree it is. If it is very large and has an apparently not so thick structure. Does it bear any fruit? It really is beautiful, how beautiful is the place where it is planted!
Yes, I'll try to ask someone at the arboretum what kind of tree it is! I looked for a sign, but couldn't find one.
I love that creek near the trees, it gives them a touch of sleep. Looks like a fake, @violetmed. Although the tree is large, I realize that it has very thin trunks and very extended branches. What a pity you don't know the name!
The branches of that tree are strange and beautiful, @violetmed. The tree looks like an elf from the enchanted woods! Like something out of a wonderful story.
It does look like it could be in an enchanted forest!
