Flowering Herb

Today I noticed some of my parsley was bolting, so I yanked off the flowering stem. Is it true that parsley only lasts two years, or will the root continue to grow into more new plants?

Yes, I read it only lasts 2 years!! I tried cutting off the flowers to no avail on another parsley and it still died! This is a 2 year old parsley plant! Now I just enjoy the flowers. I’ll just buy a new plant. 😊

Actually I first thought this was a flower in green colour covered. Oh no I still don't have an idea about it

Parsley doesn't survive the winter where I live so we almost never see a flower. It's a biennial.

Yes, I discovered it was a biennial a few years ago so now I just enjoy the flowers when they appear the 2nd year!

We eat parsley leaves so sometimes we forget that they can also flower.

Garden herbs are always pleasant but an even more pleasant surprise these days is waking through the woods and finding wild herbs. I wouldn't have even noticed but my youngest son pointed out mint growing on the trail. They liked it better than bubble gum. It's great to have fresh herbs around.

PS... the parsley looks nice growing next to the fence. It makes a good garnish^^
