Sam Ovens: Why Being Yourself In Business Is A Myth And A Limitation

I'm a huge fan of Sam Ovens and I shared a great lecture by him with @epicdice and I found this Forbes article that is an interview with Sam. So I just had to share this. If you are wondering about the lecture, here it is:

You could learn lot more at about business at his YouTube channel. He is not some random guru. Sam Ovens is only 29 years old and has an estimated net worth of 65 million USD. He started four businesses from his garage and he failed three of them. The last one succeeded and he is here with all his experience to empower other to quit their jobs and make their own living. Here is my favorite parts of the interview:

Additionally, I think modern western views see making money and being rich as selfish and evil, while donating to charity is selfless and kind. I think that view is binary and limited. My business teaches everyday people how to start their own consulting business and live lives of freedom. Rather than giving people fish as charity, my business teaches them to fish—which is limitless. I have no conflict between the binaries of selfish and unselfish because I designed my business to empower others.

The final questions I asked Ovens summed up his business philosophy quite well. I asked him if there were any limitations on striving to accommodate the demands of our or professional aspirations? And if we shouldn’t lose ourselves in pursuit of success. Ovens: growth is impossible if you don’t want to lose yourself. This because Ovens is in the business of empowering others and empowerment is growth, he’s in the business of helping people lose themselves every day.
