The most important part is the portability of the whole thing. I remember seeing 3D scanners as a kid and they were basically static deices. The accuracy is impressive. it's actually great for film making. A sculptor could create a model with subtle details and tender loving care and expect the whole thing to fully translate into the 3D model.

You also don'have to add any targets. You can simply start scanning and the device is smart enough to keep track of everything properly.
