Puppy doesn't pee in the street. What should I do? 😳

in #animals7 years ago (edited)

While the puppies of some breeds are accustomed to "go to the toilet in the street" at 4 months, the majority at 7-8 months. And there are even breeds notorious famous for being late and difficult accustomed to cleanliness. Even if your puppy is still unable to tolerate at home and all the "deeds" to do on the street, this does not mean that he should do all his natural needs only at home . So he will never learn cleanliness.

But don't worry, there are several tricks that will help your puppy make his first puddle in the street.

  1. Notice what time your puppy usually wakes up at. Prepare everything in advance - shoes, raincoat, hat, etc. Everything - so that right in your pajamas you can put on your outer clothes and pull the baby out onto the street. Set the alarm. Stand up, quickly put on your outer clothing and carry your pet to the lawn on your hands. Take 5-10 minutes. Did not work out? Getting up earlier.

  2. Before feeding the puppy, put a collar and leash on it. Put the bowl. As soon as he ate - immediately tak him on hands and go out to put on the lawn. There again wait for 5-10 minutes. If this time did not work out, your puppy is a hero. He endured and brought everything home. Rejoice! His body allows him to control his desires, and therefore as soon as he learns cleanliness, it will be as persistent to "take it" to the street.

  3. Take a look at yourself. Perhaps you grieve with pain when the puppy once again pisses on your favorite carpet and you can not even hold back the reproach: "Why couldn't you do that on the street!" And then on the street when you walk and constantly look at the puppy, thinking: "Well, when????" - the puppy sees in your stare look a threat remembering your displeasure at home. So he is afraid of making a puddle with you, waiting until you at least turn away ... Try to show less emotion when he's pissing at home, and praise the puppy on the street if he sniffs urine or feces left by other dogs.

  4. Try walking with your puppy until it won't be able to take everything in himself. Run with the puppy, feed him on the street, whatever. If it's been 3 hours and the puppy hasn't pissed yet, go to the next trick.

  5. Urine and feces are the marks dogs use to denote the territory. Just imagine that you take the flag and go waving it on the street of someone else's city in an unfamiliar country. Puppy is scared to leave his smell in the yard, where many other unfamiliar dogs already left their flags. Try to wipe a puddle at home with a rag, and then take this rag to the street. Walk around it and let the puppy sniff it from time to time. And when he's sniffing - praise him. The puppy will see that his smell on the street is good.

Usually, even if not in this, then in the next walk, you pup will necessarily pee in the street. Good look every dog owner 🐶🐶🐶

you must love him

Your dog is soooo cute!

Lol my puppy's house breaking is coming along great.... surprisingly, the only problem she has is, i have a blanket that for some reason she Loves pee'ing in... even if she just went... she loves pee'ing on this specific blanket so much, it's now just put away

That's right, u should get rid of it in some time. But when he is too small, it is impossible. No possible, but it is better to have puddles on this blanket not on the floor hah

Great post Vicky. Very informative, especially for new puppy parents.

Thank u very much. Trying to share the tips that will really help and that really works
