Coronavirus Shutdown Day 5 in Austria: Curfew!!!, Panic, Politicians are liars 😂

Corona-Shutdown Tag 5 in Österreich: Ausgangssperren (offizielle "Ausgangsbeschränkungen") kommen ab morgen in ganz Österreich, obwohl Politiker vor einem Tag gesagt haben, dass diese "undenkbar" sind. Alle Geschäfte (außer Lebensmittel...) sperren zu, auch Restaurants. Online Bestellen von Essen soll noch möglich sein.

Update: Sorry, es kommen keine generellen Ausgangssperren, wie befürchtet, sondern Ausgangsbeschränkungen mit Ausnahmen. Habe Panik bekommen. Ausgangsbeschränkungen sind absolut notwendig, um das Virus einzudämmen und das Gesundheitssystem nicht zu überlasten. Beherzigt die Maßnahmen, um Leben zu retten. Salami-Taktik der Regierung nervt. Besser gleich sagen, was Sache ist, nicht jeden Tag etwas anderes.

Heute das erste Mal richtig Panik gehabt, weil Ausgangssperren ab morgen eingeführt werden. Kann nicht mehr gut schlafen.

Man darf das Haus nicht mehr grundlos verlassen, nur noch zur Arbeit, Einkaufen oder anderen Menschen helfen. Angeblich soll man noch alleine spazieren gehen dürfen.

Finde Ausgangssperren gehen zu weit, alle Maßnahmen bis jetzt waren temporär sinnvoll, um die Ausweitung des Virus zu verlangsamen. Laut TU Wien-Studie würde bereits die Reduktion der Sozialkontakte um 25% die Peak um die Hälfte verringern. Im Freien ist das Ansteckungsrisiko auch sehr gering, wenn man große Menschenansammlungen meidet. Daher ist so eine Regelung zwar verständlich, weil sich viele nicht an die bisherigen Maßnahmen halten, aber es geht zu weit, Leute. Maßnahmen müssen immer effektiv, sinnvoll und verhältnismäßig sein.

Habe gestern Abend auch noch einen anderen beunruhigenden Gedanken gehabt. Habe erst gestern richtig realisiert, dass ganz China seit circa Anfang Februar heruntergefahren wurde. Daher die geringen Zahlen an Neuinfektionen wahrscheinlich, aber jetzt kommt die Frage, die mich sehr beschäftigt.

Was ist nach dem Shutdown? Der Virus ist nicht mehr zu stoppen. Wenn der Virus saisonal ist, könnte der nächste Outbreak zusammen mit der nächsten Grippewelle kommen, wenn nicht, dann vielleicht unmittelbar nach dem Shutdown wieder usw. bis entweder Herdenimmunität eintritt (60% bis 70% angesteckt und immunisiert, das kann Jahre dauern) oder ein Impfstoff entwickelt wurde.

Was neben den Maßnahmen daher absolute Priorität haben muss, ist die Krankenhäuser und Intensivbetten SOFORT hochzufahren. Dazu haben die Politiker fast 3 Monate Zeit gehabt, da die Behörden gewusst haben, was in China los ist. Habe heute einen Notfallplan und ein Statement auf meiner Staatsschulden-Seite gepostet.

Noch eine gute Nachricht: In der Natur gibt es kein ewig exponentielles Wachstum auch bei Viren nicht, und die Kurve wird sich auch auf natürliche Weise abflachen, da Menschen im KH, weniger Menschen anstecken und die, die genesen, danach immunisiert und virenfrei sind. Krankenhausinfrastruktur muss höchste Priorität haben, damit die Sterberate gering bleibt und es zu keinen Kollateralschäden kommt.

Corona Shutdown Day 5 in Austria: Curfews in Austria starting tomorrow, although politicians said a day ago that curfews were "unthinkable". All stores (except groceries and a few others) closing, also restaurants closed. Online ordering of food still possible.

Update: Sorry, there will be no general curfews as feared, but curfews with exceptions. I panicked today. Curfews with meaningful exceptions are absolutely necessary to contain the virus and to not overload the health care system. Follow the measures to save lives. Government salami tactics suck. Better real talk, and not telling us something different every day.

Today for the first time I really panicked because curfews were surprisingly introduced today. Can no longer sleep well.

You are no longer allowed to leave the house without reason, only to work, shop or help other people. Supposedly it is still allowed to go for a walk if alone.

Curfews go too far, all measures till now were reasonable to slow down the spread of the virus. According to a study of the Vienna University of Technology, already the reduction of social contacts by 25% would reduce the outbreak peak by half. The risk of infection is also very low outdoors if large crowds of people are avoided. Therefore curfews are understandable, because many people do not honor the introduced measures so far. But measures must always be effective, reasonable and proportionate.

I also had another disturbing thought last night. Only yesterday I realized that most of China has been shut down since about the beginning of February. Hence the low numbers of new infections now probably, but here comes the question that concerns me very much.

What happens after the shutdown? The virus can no longer be stopped. If the virus is seasonal, the next outbreak could come along with the next wave of flu, if not, then the new wave could appear immediately after the shutdown, and so on until either herd immunity occurs (60% to 70% of the population infected and immunized, this can take years) or a vaccine has been developed.

What must therefore have absolute priority, apart from the measures, is to expand the hospital and intensive care beds infrastructure IMMEDIATELY. The politicians had almost 3 months to do this, as the authorities have known what is going on in China. Today I have posted an emergency plan and a statement on my national debt page.

The good news: In nature, there is no eternal exponential growth, not even with viruses, and the curve will flatten out even naturally, as the people in the hospital will infect fewer people and those who recover will be immunized and virus-free. Hospital infrastructure must be given the highest priority now to ensure that the mortality rate remains low and there is no collateral damage.
