The Peony Garden

In the mountainous Altai, near the village of Chemal there is a picturesque place - the Garden of Peonies, which I recently visited. I'll tell you a little about this.

After the bustling Chemal tract, literally five kilometers away from it, you appear as if in another world: quiet and calm. In it there is another, special sense of time movement.

At the entrance to the garden I was greeted by benevolent owners, a married couple, who wished a pleasant stay. From the very beginning, a diverse world of flora was opened before me, as well as a cozy, carved arbor on my left hand, in which I immediately wanted to sit, which I immediately did. After a short rest in the summer-house, after a long journey to here, I continued my walk.

As it turned out, not only plants are present in the garden, but a variety of sculptures, fountains and tall arches pleases the eye. Most arches are entwined with various plants and look very beautiful.

Moving further along the stone paths I saw that the inhabitants of the fauna are also present in the garden, in the form of a mini-zoo with domestic animals: black pigs, rabbits, ducks, geese, chickens. For ducks and geese, small ponds are made, on which birds swim.

The relief of the mountainous terrain makes the Garden of Peonies cascading, in this connection there are a large number of steps made of stone, and the whole garden is fenced with stone walls.

On the territory of the garden there is quite a cold mountain river Kuyum, through which the Bridge of Love is built. There is a belief that the young lovers who have visited this bridge will be happy in love. The bridge is suspended on ropes and looks hovering over the water. A great place for seclusion, rest in peace and quiet, which can only break the noise of a boiling river.

On the beach there are gazebos, the whole garden is literally buried in greenery, flowers and coniferous trees, as well as you can buy seedlings of shrubs and flowers.

Walking in the neighborhood I saw guest houses for tourists wishing to stay in this wonderful place. Also for garden visitors there is a cafe, the interior of which is made in retro style.

Here you can see an antique stand for umbrellas, an original bar-rack and a fireplace. Shirmochka and even a doll that has not been seen for a long time, probably played by my grandmothers, is literally soaked with a special atmosphere. I should note that in this cafe, fortunately, do not sell alcoholic beverages, but the choice of fruit drinks from natural berries and fruits, as well as tea brewed from local herbs, amazes a variety of choices.

I spent an excellent time, breathed the mountain air, walking through the marvelous garden did not notice how it flew half a day. In this place you need to come with a spare of free time, so as not hurrying to admire the marvelous beauties. Enjoying a walk, you forget about the life's hectic and time flies by unnoticed.
