Love and War

In the distant 2001th year a big story came out in the big hire, which made a lot of noise. On the part of the audience there was a lot of positive feedback, and from the side of film critics there were many indignations and discontent. But first things first.

The plot of "Pearl Harbor" tells of the two best friends who have dreamed of conquering the heavenly expanses since childhood. Dreams turn into reality, and now there are two adult aces in front of us, one of whom (Ben Affleck) voluntarily goes to the very heat of the war and dies in cold sea waters. After a while his best friend Danny (Josh Hartnett) falls in love with the only love of the dead Rafe - a young and beautiful girl named Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale). What was their surprise when, as it turned out, Rafe survived and returned to his homeland safe and sound...

This story is about war and love, about real male friendship. The film shows how hard it is sometimes to make a choice and make the right decision. Michael Bay showed his version of events that occurred during the Second World War in the harbor of Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu, while talking about the "love triangle" of the main characters.

I should note the quality of the shooting and the amazing special effects performed at the highest level for 2001. Even now, many modern blockbusters do not reach the level of "Pearl Harbor". The most powerful episodes of the battle, the exploding ships, the planes falling from the sky - all this is present in the picture and makes the viewer not stopping from the screen, carefully watching what is happening. Actors are perfectly matched and look harmoniously in the frame. In the course of events, many characters were revealed, with different characters, with different fates. The actors play is gorgeous and causes a storm of emotions.

The soundtrack to the film was written by one of the most talented composers - Hans Zimmer, and Faith Hill performed the amazing song There You'll Be, which is the main theme of the tape. The music is delightful and perfectly complements the picture.

Film critics find fault with the moments of the film, which in the present history did not exist. For example, whiskey "Jack Daniels" in the 40s was sold in other bottles than those shown in the frame, or the aircraft of the Japanese aviation were of a different color ... Well, does it matter? It's a feature film, not a documentary one. As the director wanted, and showed what opportunities they had, they used them. All the details can not be thought through. The task of the feature film is to evoke emotions in the audience, empathize with the main characters, and not show reliable historical facts.

The film coped with its task completely. Beautiful costumes, brilliant music, talented actors, bomb effects, an excellent storyline, this film has everything you need for a pleasant viewing. "Pearl Harbor" has long been in my collection and is one of the most beloved. If it were possible to put an estimate of 11 out of 10, then certainly it would do so.
