Lifting One Another Up

It is our duty as Christians to lift each other at every point in time, we need to help build each other's faith in God..
Faith is a process. We are being developed into the very character of Christ, but we have not achieved it yet. Perfection will continually allude us as we mature in our faith, but that doesn’t mean we are in the same place we were before. We are growing. We are learning and putting that knowledge into practice. We step out in faith and that faith grows to catch us. However, we do not all grow at the same pace. We do not all learn the same lessons with the same degree of difficulty or ease. Our individual life experiences affect the way we understand the truths of God’s Word.
As a church, we are surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ who are both stronger and weaker in certain areas of faith. This gives us great opportunities to learn and lift up others. Romans 15:1-2 instructs us: “We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.” Jesus gave us the most perfect example of this principle. Though he is the Son of God, he dressed himself in servant’s clothes and washed his disciple’s feet.
Though all knowledge of heaven and earth resided with him, he patiently endured the constant questions and misunderstandings of his disciples. He bore the failings of their weakness in order to lift them up. Likewise, when we model the service of leadership, we encourage others to practice humility and love. When we teach and encourage with patience and love we nurture a desire for learning without fear or ridicule.
We are all traveling towards eternity. Occasionally, God will direct our path to intersect with someone else who needs a bit of loving patience to make it through their struggle. We should see these opportunities as blessings and not annoying distractions. Afterall, it is the privilege of the strong to lift up the weak and encourage them on their way. Even the strong sometimes stumble and need the help of one more experienced to guide them. In God’s kingdom, the helper leads, the servant teaches, and the patient win
