God does not need the wise but the willing

I woke up with this thought today and since then I said I must inspire you and you.....
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” (1 Corinthians 1:19) God’s ways don’t make sense to the world. We shouldn’t be surprised when Christians are ridiculed in the media and entertainment. We are often portrayed as simpletons, superstitious, hypocritical, and even bigoted. This actually makes sense. From the viewpoint of worldly ‘wisdom’, I suppose we are.
Our childlike faith in a God we cannot see with our eyes (yet), seems as naïve as believing in Santa Clause. Our belief and dependence on miracles must appear like wishing on a star to those who don’t understand the power of God. Surely our proclamation of the definition of righteousness and our dedication to living by God’s laws even though we sometimes fall must come across as hypocritical and judgmental. Christianity simply doesn’t make sense if your heart belongs to the world. This is why James declares: “friendship with the world is enmity with God” (James 3:4).
Those who are wise in the world have a difficult time rejecting that worldly wisdom and embracing the truth of God and the salvation of Jesus. From such a viewpoint, one man’s death can’t possibly erase the sin and guilt of millions of people, thousands of years after his death and resurrection. In fact, nothing about Jesus makes sense from the wisdom of the world.
That is why God rejects such foolish ‘wisdom’. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 says: “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.”
Smile when the world thinks you are foolish for trusting in a God they do not understand. Rejoice when they think we are ignorant because of our faith. Worldly wisdom will soon all fade away and be revealed as the foolishness it truly is. Be wise in the Lord by being a willing follower and leave the judgmentalism to the world.
