Sponsorship is usually between two parties where one agrees to provide mostly financial assistance or support to the other party. Most talented people most time have their talent hidden due to lack of sponsorship. Sponsorship can be of great benefit to the both parties involved because both gets to benefit sooner or later.
There are many benefits of sponsorship because with the right sponsor we get to achieve our goals without the fear of financial limitations. A sponsor also serves as a source of encouragement because he or she will always be there to offer support not only financially but emotionally too.

My Story

It was a cold evening, 17 year old Iboroakam sat in her room staring at her books. She was a good writer with an A pen game, she was so good and what she does right from primary school she always wrote debate for public speakers as she was a very shy type, fast forward to secondary school she was the lead ghost writer of the press club and she will always write news for the readers but kept her identity anonymous only know to the teacher in charge of the press club and her, she had always wanted to become a professional writer and her role model was Chinua Achebe and Wole Soyinka. She wanted to publish books and get people to read it but due to insufficient funds, she was unable to publish her books but she never gave up on her dreams and she kept drafting scripts and stories.

One day, Iboroakam happened to meet with one of her brother's friends, Alex,who happens to be a script writer and also publishes his books by himself. They had a lot of conversation and he saw great potentials and requested to see her drafts and scripts and she emailed them to him.He offered to sponsor Iboroakam and also brought her into his company because the girl was too good at what she does. This was a stepping stone to Iboroakam's success and she was excited because she knew she was a step nearer to her dreams.

Accepting to sponsor Iboroakam was one of the best decisions he took as he confessed over an interview. She did not only promote his brand but made it very popular and big movie producers came for to patronize his brand for script writing. Coupled with the amazing books she wrote and he published. Iboroakam is overjoyed with Alex's support, and she can now focus on writing and publishing her books and scripts without the fear of financial instability. She went for a competition representing her brand and she came out the best, this also helped her build her self confidence and she became a public speaker too and not writing for people to go and present and a ghost writer but a confident writer who could face the crowd without trembling because her boss Mr. Alex also helped groom her in that aspect.

As Iboroakam began to do exploits in her career, she is Forever grateful to Alex for coming through for her. As Iboroakam grew in her career, she didn't only get sponsored by Alex but also a strong partnership and open store where people who are inspired by her work can come and buy or read her books.
After two years of partnering with her boss he advised her to start her own writing foundation where she would inspire other writers like her to achieve their dreams and not give up on their dreams due to finances, he also promised to guide her through the process as she was a novice into the business. Her business flourished and her and her boss usually came together to organize a writing contest for secondary where the best wins a scholarship to any level of education and free publication of the author's work.

As years passed, Iboroakam became one of the renowned writers and Alex , her sponsor was part of her testament as she never failed to give him the recognition as the one who laid the foundation for her success. Most times it's not about the talent and skill but the right sponsorship because the right sponsor can just be an answered Prayers and our ticket to achieving that dream.
