Acrimony: Behind the scenes

in #movie8 years ago (edited)

I'm not too much a fan of seeing movies, especially the ones that really get to trend on social media with either great reviews or spoiler alerts, it kind of clouds my judgement and I don't get to enjoy them.I would rather wait for the hype to be over.

I had a different experience with the movie "Acrimony", it a watch and make your own comment movie, lol. Don't worry, I'm not here to tell you who is to blame or hype the movie or give it a spoiler, I'm just here to ermmmm, you'll find out.

Truthfully I enjoyed the movie,I felt it, I thought about it for days, I argued but there's more, I found out some interesting stuff and I would love to share.

The movie was produced in 8 days:

I found it hard to believe too but c'mon,it's Tyler Perry we are talking about here.
I have been on set a couple of times, worked on a movie and 8 days quite a short period to shoot a movie. According to Tyler Perry, they shot 15 pages of the script daily as compared to the regular 2-3 pages that's obtainable.
It must have been a whole lot of work for them.

The story was told in dual perspective:

While arguing about who is to blame, supporters of Robert claimed that the story was one sided,we didn't get to hear Robert's side....
Well the writer in an interview with Google talks mentioned that it would have been an unfair story if we didn't see the other side.
Wait you mean there was another side? I guess I have to watch it again.

The Title of the script came after the story was done:

Gather around if you thought the Title of the movie birthed the story, I wouldn't even doubt.
So Tyler Perry said he was done with the script and he hadn't found a name for it yet until one day he was watching CNN and the word "acrimonius" was mentioned, he had to do a research and it was a perfect match for the script.

the cast got into character really fast:

Lyriq (Robert) seems to be a naturally cool person, Taraji (Mel) is more of the hoppy kind. According to her, it was quite challenging because she was in the middle of being Cookie(her empire character) and she had to come out of all of that to me Mel.
The Mel character is an embodiment of irrational behavior, so she had to think about the very many times she had irrational thoughts in a her head but had to reason them out, helping her get into character.

Opening scene was without cuts:

According to them, the opening scene where Mel was narrating her story to the therapist was a one shot scene in the sense that they started and just flowed like that till it was over.
It is believable because that scene had some distractions, you can go back to grab the details.

That movie is a pure work of art, there might never be an agreement as to who is to blame.
Tyler Perry told the story of many relationships and in the end it was another amazing movie....

So finally some one is actually plying my trade. I bet you @Vheobong. These movie got so many reviewing there relationships and amending where they have gone wrong...

So many arguments arose among my guys after they finished watching the movie, even among ladies. But, it's a movie with a lot to tell and say to couples especially the young ones. Love is mainly about affections.

Exactly...
You're right...
We just have to learn

I must say the hype of this movie is just getting too much and I really have to watch it to know what it is all about because I am just confused on who is actually wrong or right.

Eiyah sorry dear...
Just watch with an open mind, you'll enjoy it
