The creation of Pallacià - EP1
Artstation Challenge
I've been participating in the recent Artstation challenge and created a whole universe around 10 characters. The theme of the challenge was Ancient civilization Lost & Found. I wanted to create a mix between fantasy & Scifi and create mysterious characters inspired by Venetian civilization. This project is a take on Transhumanism, self-perception and a bit of mysticism. I like to mix universes and especially magic and technology.
The Story of Pallacià
The kingdom of Pallaccià is a mysterious place that nobody from the known world, ever found. Legends say their inhabitants have mind and knowledge far beyond any other civilizations. But they decided to not share it with anyone. Since the king of Pallaccià is dead, the kingdom is in danger.
A mysterious Duke has taken control of the throne and plans to use their advanced technology to evil use. The true heir of the king wants to reach for help and goes on a journey with her escort, in the hope to reconquer her kingdom and bring their civilization a brighter future. But the lord sends his best trackers to bring her back.
EP.1 - The Princess of Pallacià, the Prophet and Sir Devozs
The Princess of Pallacià
The princess is the true heir of the kingdom. While she thinks she is unworthy, she wants her people to be a peaceful and prosper civilization so she goes on a journey to seek help from other kingdoms and get back the throne from the Duke. Her floating mirror only reflects the image of people with great destiny. Anyone who confront the mirror and sees his reflection appear, can ask the Shell of Pallacià to predict their future. But the shell will only whisper to the Princess' ears... The whole theme of the princess is about self reflection & image. She'll always speak the truth since the Shell predicts the future. That's why she shows her face and does not wear a mask.
Process -
Sir Devozs
Sir Devozs likes is a bit old fashion. His design was directly inspired from Venetian guards. He doesn't like masks and enhancements; he rather be wounded than get a bio mechanic arm or be transferred in a mechanical body. He thinks machines are not humans anymore and he has little respect for them. However the princess and their journey will give him a different view of the world.
Process
The Prophet
A long time ago he was a wise priest and a faithful advisor to the previous king. His conscience was transferred in a gigantic robot when his body became to weak to keep existing. His mind has been altered and he's not completely the man he was before but a new entity. He has a colossal strength even if he looks peaceful he will do anything to protect the princes and help her in her journey
