NORFED $10 Liberty Dollar
The other day @silversaver888 was showing some of her Statue of Liberty coins. I thought I had a few she might not have so I started poking around. While looking around I found more silver to melt also. Just did a few wood pours but they sucked and will be remelted.
Anywho, take a look at this 2005 $10 Liberty Dollar. It's a half ounce of silver and is getting a beautiful rainbow toning. If you don't know the story behind the NORFED & Liberty dollars, I suggest you check it out. They put a dollar value on these coins and the Feds had a shit fit about it. They ended up confiscating Millions in silver, all of the dies and equipment and just about anything belonging to the folks minting these.
Do you have any of these or ever heard their story? Lots of them were circulated around here because one of the people making them is local and a friend of my family. Thanks for checking it out.

@vgholdingsllc I really Like these Liberty Dollars a Lot. In Fact I Remember When eBay Told Sellers That They Could not List Them to Sell Because of The Counterfeiting Trial...............
This is one of the guys who helped with them. He is good friends with my family and right down the road from me.
It's really cool. I've never come across one like that! I like it. And maybe can flip for profit??
Oh yes. They have a pretty nice premium on them. They also had many varieties with some less than 100 mintage. Really cool pieces.
Very cool piece of history to have as this whole extravaganza teeters ever closer to full on riot.

WOW... that is a very nice round. Yes, that was some move by Norfed. It is criminal. Only government mints and those authorized by their laws can denominate coins. Great one to keep, @vgholdingsllc. I am curious... I have not seen the gold version in person. Have you?

I saw the $50, I think it was a 1/10th ounce piece. We have a bunch of these in my area as one of the distributors and contributors is local to me. I have a really nice full set of these I'll have to post about sometime.
I'd heard of the NORFED coins, but didn't know any of our stackers had one! So very awesome! 😃 If they had just refrained from putting "USA" on them, they might have gotten away with it.
I actually have a number of these coins in the different sizes. What screwed them was the dollar amount on them. They could have put USA on them, just not a value. They actually won the court case and had most of the stuff returned to them after many many years. Thanks for checking it out @thekittygirl.
