There is a serial killer in my house!

in #comics7 years ago (edited)

I had the opportunity to sit and binge read a series called "BASTARD" on this past trip to the east coast. I'm a huge wimp when it comes to live action thrillers, but somehow I'm able to enjoy it in it's other forms.

I stumbled on this series by chance. I saw a preview promo for this series and I had the impression that it was a romance webtoon. I realized halfway through reading the first chapter that it was indeed a thriller comic. It was already too late, the authors had done a outstanding job luring me in with their promo and now I had to find out what would happen next!

The story circles around seventeen year old Jin Seon, Dongsoo Seon (Jin's Father), and the disappearance of many young women.

I found myself questioning several things. Like, who was friend or foe? Was it a dream or in fact reality? Lots of delightful plot twists that leave you wanting more.

This series was worth visiting just to read the top comics! 😂

Download the WEBTOON App or visit the website to read all the chapters. Thanks for checking out this post! 🦊

Are you also into thrillers?

Sort:

Heey, you be on that webtoons too. I'm currently reading dice.

What's that about? I'm binge reading Tower of God right now.

It's about this kid who discovers these dice that gives him powers. You should definitely check it out.

Huh. Sounds interesting. I'll do that.

Aaaaaand now I have to go download this app. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for checking it out!

It's an interesting read!

Sadly I have nothing to do either but reading books and comics and watching old Dr. Who shows... I am reading the old Ghost in the Shell manga that I got for my birthday, and tonight I am going to watch the movie (even though my brilliant daughter told me that it can not compete with the original anime)

I'm on your daughter's side. I, till this day, refuse to watch it. Nope. 😤

Haha, well she did go with some friends, but before that we had two sittings (one with her non-otaku cousin) where we scrutinised the slow paced, philosophical and so very beautiful original. It's one of the best films of the nineties.

Yeah, nothing beats the original film. That's kind of how I feel about the '87 RoboCop and I still have not seen the 2014 remake.

I saw it before seeing this! LOL Thank you! I really enjoyed it!

All these reboots just show that Hollywood is (and has been for years) in a major creative crisis. I have almost stopped watching mainstream US movies. But I tried to see the new Ghost in the Shell yesterday - hope I will succeed tonight.

I watched something about how Hollywood is now targeting Chinese consumers, because if it tanks here then money could still be made overseas.

Yes, I noticed (from the logos in the start) that some of the production companies involved in this new movie was Chinese.

I remember reading something that said that they had shot most of the scenes in china. I also read something from an interview with the director and he seemed to lack knowledge and understanding of what Ghost in the Shell was and is about. Honestly, I'm almost positive that his aim was to produce a movie in his vision but lacked viewers so he threw the title Ghost in the Shell on it. He freaking directed Snow White and the Huntsman!!! 💀

That looks pretty sick. I've never been into web comics but maybe I'll give it a go. I'm sure I would read old stuff like Akira. I believe there is an app called Comical that lets you read comic books on computer.

I haven't heard of that App. I've had Manga Reader for awhile now and it works pretty goood. But reading webtoons are great, the format is interesting and I find myself scrolling through an infinite amount of pages.

I would read some old 2000 AD from the 90's. Best comic ever in my opinion...
