GAME REVIEWS | Crawl!

Before you start screaming because of the pixelated graphics, this game was made by an Indie Australian developer named Powerhoof.

Now this is a Dungeon-Crawler type of game that supports up to 4 players local. Now lets go to the begining, I loaded this game 3 days ago at midnight thinking "I'm just gonna give it a try before sleep".. My friend and I ended up playing it until 3am...

The game starts with all the human/bot players in a deathmatch and only one survives. The other players roam around the stage as ghosts until they find a pentagram on the floor which turns their ghost into a monster which they use to defeat the human player. Now if you're still a human after the first deathmatch, your goal is to loot the dungeon and defeated the evil monsters (controlled by players).

There are very interesting characters inside the game, for an example: my friend stepped inside a statue while beeing a ghost and it resulted in him becoming "Peter Griffin" from the image above and smashed me (while I was human) in 2-3 hits. There are also boss fights and not to mention that you can upgrade your monster from an imp to a diablo looking motherfucker with skills and spells so in a way it's cooler to play as a monster then human.

There are also illuminati looking blue triangles that sometimes appear on the ground after defeating a army of monsters and they help you level. The most badass are the boss fights. If you have a little bit of a 90's kid spirit in you (as I do) you will not mind the graphics and enjoy this madness of a game!

Good: story, sound, diversity, ambience, fast paced, contagious and fun

Bad: short.

Thank you for reading!

Whoa, looks like a badass game. I like how they incorporated progression in a deathmatch style game. Might check it out myself, good post!

thank you, do you know other games this type? or at least similar?
started following you ;)

No, generally speaking it's quite unique. Dead by Daylight, though not an 8-bit arena game, is quite similar in a way because it's a 4vs1 game where 1 of the players is the killer and the rest have to survive

yeah I know about dead by daylight, but I was thinking more of these pixelated indie style games with rpg elements, retro looking graphics, looting and dungeon crawling!

Mhmm, not sure if Dead Cells would count but it has some looting and progression although it's a platformer not an arena type game. It fits the pixelated, dungeon crawling elements though

Looks like I'm missing out, this is quite a game! I'll definitely check it out and maybe even get it myself. I mean, how can you not try it after seeing Peter Griffin? Not to mention, it seems as if the game has lots of surprises for the players... which is just awesome.

Great read!

Well I am pretty sure it's a Peter Griffin lookalike but nevertheless by all means try it! :D

Definitely! How did you come across this game, if I may I ask?

Bravo jebote... :D

How could be anyone turned off by this graphics? This pixelart is freaking amazing!

you know how people are nowadays and I get it. I have my moments where I like to run Ark: Survival Evolved in Ultra settings which makes it beautiful but that is not art, this is ;)

yea Ark has this wow moments :) love them

Ark is my number one.

Let's play a little
