My dear fellow Steemians, as I was scrolling down my Steemit account, it cross my mind to share on how to convince people to join Steemit based from my four months experiences in Steemit.

Convince People

Trying to convincing people to join Steemit is not easy. I do understand why some people quite reluctant to join Steemit. Steemit only been two years on the net and consider still new and sounds too good to be true. This makes people who been scam online before to be cynical and judgeable. Some of them might say "You mean I can make money by writing one post?" That's absurd and too good to be true!

To be honest, when I joined Steemit, I thought the same. But when I made my first $$... I just smile...smile like I strike a jackpot. Its not that much but its real money baby!

I've tried to convince my nephew to join Steemit and he got interested but that's it. I even make him a Steemit account but well some people never realise the opportunity is always there, you just have to work on it.

Unlike my hardworking sister @annekins, she saw me actively posting Steemit article on Facebook, got curious, and asked me how. Cut the story short, she's been posting almost everyday on motivation, food and health.

Convince Yourself

In order to convince people that Steemit is legit, you have to convince yourself. I registered to Steemit account before Christmas last year, got my account approved before New Year and been posting since then. After three weeks on Steemit, I make my first transaction and got my Malaysian money. To tell the truth, I learned everything by reading other Steemian post in the Steemit platform. That time I only know @arwine and @melindajamulis ..who's resposible for hooking me up with my new boyfriend..Steemit.

During the weekend, I met these two ladies and @arwine said she noticed that I witdrew my SBD. I just smile and say "Yes it work, its true..keep on posting".

I screenshot my proof of transaction, and few days later @melindajamulis requested me to forward the screenshot to her saying that its for her own use to proof to her friends that it's legit. Now she and her colleague formed a Steemit group called Small Little Circle. @melindajamulis also shared the beauty of Steemit as told by @danieldoughty, now our Steem Ambassador, who introduced @bitrocker2020 ...who introduced @teammalaysia and @myach and the story goes on...

I convinced my husband @beverlyjoe to join and he's been posting great articles almost every day. I've influenced @kilathecla to post some of her diva stories on Steemit.

I also convinced @cyrilovie to join the community just by stating that you can blog and at the same time gain some income. How did it happen? Well... at first I was thinking of introducing Steemit to two girls who's doing an internship with our network organisation. Turns out @cyrilovie whose working with the organisation overheard our conversation and said "How do I begin?"

So, what happen to the two girls...well both of them were interested, one registered but lost her password and the other one keep on telling me she will register but never did. I just let them be, I believe Steemit is a platform where you don't have to force people to join..it's their own choice..it is all up to them.

The Beauty of Steemit

So how do you convince people to relax and consider looking into Steemit? One thing I learned and realized is that people are more interested to join in if they feel they are missing out the beauty of Steemit, rather than being forced to do so.

The other day I've attended a half day training at Pacos, one of our partner organisation. I got bored and check on my Steemit account. The girl sat next to me saw me scroling on Steemit and got curious.

She asked me what's its all about and I just showed her my account and explained the beauty of Steemit, and just like that, she registered on the spot while the facilitator talking in front of the class...LOL.

Sort:

I think some people have the personality for steemit and some don't. If they are kind of adventurous and want to be part of something new, they join. If they find a group of people that encourage them, they stay. But not everyone is like this, and some do not really give it a chance here. If they don't make money or friends right away, they leave. That's fine, everyone is different and can do whatever they want. I keep telling people about steemit and some have come and are doing well. :)
