'Old Master's Painting'

When I walked into this hallway of an old city building, I got an idea immediately. I wanted to achieve the look of old masters. Aged oil on canvas look. The location was perfect, lit as it is. The elements very well fit the idea. So here you have it. Oil on canvas, aged with the darks. Tell me whose painting it reminds you of? I'll not say anything as it would steer you n the right direction. However, the old master I had in mind while making this photograph mostly did portraits. I tried to achieve the mood, the lighting and the colour scheme which he used quite often. but, this is not a portrait, of course.

I especially like the reflection in the left mirror. It gives the image a whole new, mysterious dimension. That mirror also helps divide the light tonality areas and therefore we get more dynamic. The old sink is almost invisible there in the dark. One needs to work to see it.

The overall structure of the photograph, achieved by grain, makes it unusual, very specific. If you imagine it clean, without all that, it would probably be less interesting.

Enjoy! :)

A whole mystery this photograph, @velimir. I like painting, very interesting, the fact of the mirror makes it even more interesting and pleasant. I have no idea who did it but I like his creativity, he is undoubtedly an artist.

I have no idea who it is, but I like painting, the mystery is amazing in it, the mirror makes everything much more mysterious and striking. Shadows and dark colors I love. Help us solve the mystery, @velimir. :-D Greetings.

It really does observe the game with lights and shadows, @velimir! In this case it highlights the center of the work, which in this case are the mirrors, especially that central! I like that the frontal reality is reflected in it. What gives the impression of a reality within another reality. That reminds me of a work by Jan Van Eyck. As for the masters, I see several present, by the formation of shadows could be Rembrandt or Vermeer. Right now the memory does not help me much! Greetings

Amazing work! When you look at it for the first time, you think it is a real place and the photo was taken with not enough light. A nice piece of art.

It reminds me a little of Rembrandt but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for due to the fact that as far as I am aware Rembrandt did portraits mostly. Either way, it's a great shot. It certainly gives off the desired effect- when I first saw it I thought it was on display in some sort of historical building- the type of stuff you're not supposed to touch. Cool to know this is just in some random old building.

Great shot as always @velimir :)
