Motorcycle travel series by @velimir 'Andautonia 1' (Part #15)
Old Romans walked this grounds, plough this land, and lived among these thick walls which time turned into razed ruins. So much history is written right here in front of me in the hard stone. I can see them walk, live, dress, sing, conquer, rejoice, love and die, and all over again for generations.
After Romans conquered these lands from original inhabitants, Andautonia became the key settlement in this part of the Illyrian province. Romans lived in this very place between first and fourth century, probably until the vengeance or old forgotten blood feud came knocking.
Andautonia very likely crumbled down under that oncoming power which took over the place and rebuilt it just to rest until the same fate came back upon them and so on and on until our very own days. The circle of conquests and hatred towards others.
Such were the ways of the Old World.
Do you think much has changed?
