Web 2.0 vs Web 3.0
Currently, internet technology is web 2.0 technology. But wave 3.0 technology has challenged this web 2.0 technology because web 3.0 technology has many features which are much better than web 2.0 technology. The last two posts have discussed some of the features of Web 3.0. Here this post will discuss the comparative review between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0. This discussion will make it clear why Web 3.0 technology is better than Web 2.0 technology and is better for all of us. Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 are two distinct stages in the evolution of the Internet, with different features and capabilities.
Web 2.0
Web 2.0 was the second stage of the web's development began in the early 2000s. Web 2.0 was characterized by the rise of social media, user-generated content, and the increased interactivity and engagement of users with the web. Web 2.0 made it easier for users to create and share content, such as blog posts, videos, and photos. Some dynamic social media and file-sharing sites have been found with the help of this form of Internet web. This led to a proliferation of user-generated content on the web. It brought the rise of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, which enabled users to connect with others and share content. Thus 2.0 made the web more interactive and engaging with features such as commenting, liking, and sharing. Later on, it made it possible to incorporate rich media such as videos, audio, and animations, into web pages. Access to this web from mobile devices is the development of responsive design and mobile-first strategies.
Web 3.0
Web 3.0 is designed to make data more easily accessible and understandable by machines where it uses metadata, linked data, and other advanced technologies. It’s actually based on decentralized technologies such as blockchain and peer-to-peer networks. So security and privacy are great. Mainly the development of decentralized applications (dApps) is the key feature of it. Web 3.0 is expected to bring more relevant and accurate search results, with the use of semantic search technologies that can understand the meaning of queries. It can enable greater interoperability between different applications and platforms with the use of open standards and protocols. Automated data analysis, smart contracts, and other applications can be built on top of the decentralized infrastructure which is discussed elaborately in the last post.
