First of Many Starfruit From Arkin Starfruit Tree
Good afternoon, Steemians!
A mature starfruit tree can yield up to 400 pounds of fruit per year. I hope that mine is no exception. I’m super excited because I’ve just harvested my very first full sized Starfruit from my Arkin (crunchier than average) variety tree.
It’s not quite ripe yet, but I wanted I pluck it before the bugs got to it. I would imagine within a couple of days it will be just right to eat.
I’ll be sure to make more posts about my small harvests over our winter season! Thanks for stopping by!
OMG, @vegansilverstack!!! It’s very ripe! Hehe. Well, I guess Asian folks like it kinda green and slightly yellow because we like it sour and slightly sweet.
Congratulation on your harvest!! Aloha!
Ha I like mine to be super sweet :D
Beautiful fruit! The last image kind of looked like a tiny bird in your hand to me while I was scrolling :)
Eating something you've grown yourself must be quite satisfying.
I've only had starfruit once, it actually was pretty good.
p.s. I'm jealous of that nice weather, it's below zero up here.
Get down below that Bible Belt brother! XP
Never tried that before!! looks so nice ^^
This is great! Homegrown fruit is always the best!
Agreed my friend!
Way cool! I love putting sliced starfruit on my fruit platters. But, I'm afraid that I much purchase mine from the local market. Until your post, I'd never seen a starfruit being grown. Hopefully you'll share some of your favorite starfruit recipes. All the best!
The only recipe I will have is me cutting it up and eating it :D
LOL! Just as nature intended...probably the best "recipe" of all!
Count me among the envious! That's awesome to be able to get fresh fruit right from your yard. We usually have some luck in the spring and summer with our vegetable garden and generally rock it with our herbs, but we don't have any yummy fruit trees!
ive always wanted to try one of those but never had the opportunity they look cool, great looking tree :)
They're sweet when ripe and very water rich. A flavor unlike anything I've tasted before. Love the smell of them when ripe!
Good post
great post, vegansilverstack as usual!
