Well mother nature is a bit cruel. Why aren't tigers vegans too? Because nature designed tigers to be meat eaters. Humans are omnivores hence some eat meat and other don't.

Humans are not omnivores just because they can eat meat. Horses can eat meat too and survive but with great dissability, so its not part of their diet. We can not only survive on plants only but improve health and thrive. We cant properly digest meat and have longer time of passage that create problems like cancer. Even if we are omnivores it would make no sense to eat meat.

The thing is that being a vegan is a luxury, there wouldn't be so many people on the planet if we didn't expand our diets to include meat (I'm not saying that's a good thing).

Why do you think its a luxury? Even before agriculture humans have consumed meat scarcely, meaning only when there was no other food around (plants, roots, insects..) and it didn't play a role in our progress or number because it brings danger (meat may contain parasites and deadly viruses, decrease athletic ability and is very hard to store for later). We would be even more populated if we all eat vegan or vegetarian just look at india and china.

I think a vegan diet is the best diet and I'm almost a vegan but if you lived somewhere like England 1000 years ago (particularly in winter) I don't know how you could survive without expanding your diet to animal products, or how humans would be able to thrive in cooler climates.

without any technology humans wouldn't even live in Europe. Clothes, houses, spears- all tech. They had to develop some science and brains before venturing north from Africa and mesopotamia, where plant food is abundant.
