Windbell Steemboat Restaurant Review
Few nights ago, i had the opportunity to dine at this lovely steambot restaurant called Windbell with @gelfire, @emmanuelnukchee, friend from Australia and our families.
For those who grow up in Kota Kinabalu (KK), this famous Windbell name always relay to mind when it comes to Steambot. They use to be at Tg Aru Beach 2 where most young lovesbirds (70s,80s,90s) goes dating there.
Now, they relocated to Taman Emas (opposite Lido). A much more brighter and spacious room to cater their growing customer.
I have to say the selection of food is top notch, lots of choices to spoil. You don’t even know where to start actually. The cooked food (ikan basung goreng, stewed chicken feet, roasted chicken, porridge, kuey tiaw mee hoon goreng) was thier appetizer (imagine the choices) - and i was halfway full already - Goshhh!!
The soup choices are chicken, tom yam, curry and herbal soup. We tried all 4 flavour, the owner Mr Fritz is a one great PR guy. He is the owner, waiter, cleaner, server, cashier and the host (opening and closing the door for us when we arrive n leave). Mr Fritz has work at the top management of famous 5* resort hotel before taking over Windbell, so he knows his groundwork very well.
Being a chili padi guy, you will be spoilt by it. The condiments such as kasturi(lime), garlic, fresh coriander, fresh green onions and others was great help added to your soup. Actually, the soup is great already, only add the coriander for fresh bites to it.
On the meat section, i have to say that they really put a great effort to serve only fresh meat. Being a fish lover soup myself (i know my fish taste like-if it fresh or not). I had the opportunity to indulge the fish head, fish belly, fish slice (barely touch the other meats such as beef and chicken) . It was the moment of awesomeness when having your own favorites.
Toilets and the surrounding area is super clean, spacious parking space (they even have om guard to jaga your car). I do have to say this, thier servers are very well trained. Your chinese tea empty, they refill it constantly, your dirty plate with bones, they will almost immediately clear it for and get you a new plate.
Mr Fritz has also mention that, special holidays or weekends, they advice to call and booked first, sometimes the restaurant get too busy, customer hve to wait.
We end the night a full satisfied stomach. Ohh by the way, they are doing a promotion now at RM35.00 per head. Dont forget that senior citizen price deduction too. 😆😆
Til then for now — see you in my next post
Cheersss 😄😄
